从上表可看出,短文材料有以下特点:
(1)短文体裁:近三年都是记叙文。
(2)短文题材:生活经历或感恩故事,其内容或体现文化内涵,或给人心灵以启迪等。
(3)短文难度:没有超出课标的生词,但有其派生词。
(4)短文长度:170——200词。
就命题形式而言,纯空格题设6—7个小题;用括号中所给词的适当形式填空设3—4个小题。近三年高考情况如下表所示:

In recent years, more and more people choose to travel abroad. What’s the reason for it
Firstly, the improvement of the economic conditions is probably the main reason for it. Now people do not need to worry about their diet or various other necessities. After traveling to many places of interest in our own country, they would like to try a new place abroad.
Secondly, with the development of modern technology, people begin to take advantage of different foreign products as well as education. Since most people have got used to their life at home, traveling abroad becomes one of the easiest ways to have direct contact with foreign cultures. They think they can buy some foreign products while having fun abroad.
Lastly, more and more traveling companies in China have opened routes to other countries in order to make more profit. They introduce beautiful sights in foreign countries to people via TV, newspapers and the Internet. And this has encouraged more people to try traveling abroad.

Teaching procedures (教学程序)
Step I 1) Give students three passages about grammar cloze. (09,10,11年高考题)
2) Ask students to discuss with partners and find the puzzling ones.
3) Three students will be chosen to give the explanations.
