Section C教学设计
教学设计思路:
在本节课中,教师首先通过生日歌导入主题,即Kangkang’s birthday party,回顾Section A及Section B内容,复习过去时态及实意动词的过去式;再通过问题,帮助学生归纳总结新单词及新短语。
接下来,教师运用“拼图阅读”(Jigsaw reading)的教学方法,引导学生阅读康康的生日派对这篇文章。具体操作如下:1、在阅读前,教师引导全班学生通过图片来猜测课文标题,预测和感知文章内容,然后让学生们听短文检查自己的猜测;2、然后将全班学生分成两人小组。小组中一人为A, 另一人为B。在阅读中,所有A组学生阅读文章第一段,教师设置相应的阅读任务;所有B组学生阅读文章第二段,教师设置相应的阅读任务。学生读各自的材料,获取文章信息并完成练习。然后开展结对活动,A和B互相交流学习的收获,先分享文章大意,然后相互帮助完成阅读任务的完成情况,就难点问题开展小组讨论。阅读后,教师引导全班学生整体解读文章。
Ⅰ. Teaching aims
1. Knowledge aims:
After the class, the students are able to:
(1) read the new words correctly and learn the past forms of some verbs.
(2) understand the text by using prediction(预测) ,skimming(略读)and scanning(细读) for details.
(3) retell the text and know how to celebrate a birthday.
2. Educational objectives: the students are able to
(1) identify how to describe what people do at a birthday party.
(2) be aware of the importance of cooperation.
Ⅱ.学情分析:
我所带的班级学生人数为46人,学生对于学习英语非常感兴趣,学习热情较高,自学能力较强,但大部分学生因为缺乏有效的练习,口语表达能力相对较差,需要针对性地进行提高。因此,在这次的阅读教学中,采用“拼读阅读”的教学方式让学生在阅读中交流,培养其听、说、读、写的能力。

(2) To know how to celebrate a birthday
2. Difficult points:
Use the past forms of the verbs to describe what they did at Kangkang’s birthday party.

V . Teaching procedure
Step 1 Lead-in
(Purpose: To build a friendly class climate to get students ready for learning) Greetings.

Step 2 Presentation
(Purpose: Make them be familiar with new words and phrases.)
T: Before reading, I have two questions for you, the first one is what do people usually do before a birthday party The second is what do people usually do at a birthday party
Let students summarize the phrases that they know, and I’ll lead in the new words and phrases then.
Step 3 Reading activity
① Pre-reading
(Purpose: Ensure students to get the main idea of the passage by guessing the title)
Hand out different reading texts to students.
a. Explaining
Explain what Jigsaw reading is and get students to understand how to finish the following tasks.
b. Guessing
Get students to guess the title of the passage and finish Task 1.

②While-reading
(Purpose: Enable students to read for details and learn to share information with their partners.) Reading texts:
Student A
We had a birthday party for Kangkang at his home last Sunday. His parents bought lots of food and drinks for us. We brought many presents for him. Each of us gave Kangkang a birthday card, too. We made the cards by hand. He liked them very much.
Student B
There was a big birthday cake with 13 candles on it. We all sat around the cake. Kangkang made a wish and then he blew out the candles. We danced, sang songs and played games at the party. Everyone had a good time.
a. Skimming
Ask students to read half the text silently and quickly and find out the past forms of the verbs. Students A read the first paragraph. Students B read the second paragraph. Then exchange their answers and help each other to finish Task 2.
Task 2 Read and find.
b. Scanning
Let the students read again and answer the questions in Task 3. Students A answer Questions 1-3. Students B answer Questions 4-6. Then they work in pairs and share their ideas by explaining their own passage and answering their partner’s questions.

③Post-reading
(Purpose: Check students if they can use words, phrases and grammar they have learned.)
Task 5: Listen and retell.
T: Try to retell the passage with the help of the chart with your partner. I will give you three minutes to prepare it with your partner. Then I will give you 3 chances to show.
Task 6: Write a short passage about your birthday party.

Jigsaw Reading
Jigsaw Reading, 也叫“拼图阅读”,即两人一组合作学习,共同完成整篇文章的理解。
