What does your father do at home every night What do you talk about or do together
A boy wrote to me, saying that he had a problem with his father. His father was nice but very busy. When they were together, it was often just embarrassing silence. He didn't know what to talk about with his father. He asked me for some advice. Here is what I wrote back:
My first piece of advice is to tell your lather everything you told me in your letter. But if you're not that brave, here are some tricks to start conversations.
First, remember that everyone loves to talk about himself or herself. So ask your father something about himself. For example, ask him "What's something you loved to do in your childhood, but you never had time for these days " You will learn something about your lather and have a new topic next time.
Another way is to tell him about something bad that happened to you. Ask him about a time when he was in trouble. You could change ″troubled″to any other word like ″embarrassed″"sad″or ‘unhappy".
Here's one more trick: You can find thousands of questions online. If your father asks why you have so many strange questions, tell him your English teacher shared them and you think they re fun I hope the advice above gets your conversation started!
By Daniel
1. How many tricks does the writer give the boy to start conversations in the passage
