Each Friday, my son's kindergarten(幼儿园)class has “a prize day”. All the children who do well in the week can get a prize. The children have behavior cards. The cards start out green every morning, but are changed from green to yellow, orange and finally to red if they do something wrong. Most of the children never change their cards from green.
On many Fridays, a boy named Tommy often walks out with an unsmiling face because he has had a bad day or two that week. Tommy is a naughty boy and he often causes trouble. Other children would tell their parents, “Tommy got angry,” or “Tommy didn't listen to the teacher,” or “Tommy got trouble today. ”But recently, things have become much better for Tommy. My son reports proudly each day, “All GREEN today. ”
Last night, after I kissed him goodnight,he said he was very excited because tomorrow was a prize day. “And I hope, hope, hope that Tommy stays on green!” My heart was filled with pride. I told my son how kind it was of him to think of Tommy rather than caring about his own prize.
I am so proud of both my son and Tommy, and I hope one day they will both understand what the real prize was!

As a young boy,I enjoyed listening to my father telling his childhood stories. The picture of him and his friends climbing to the top of a tree to look at a bird's nest stayed in my mind for quite a while. I dreamed of looking at a bird's nest that had eggs or small baby birds inside like my father did when he was a boy.
But that was almost impossible. First, youngsters today are not allowed to climb trees. People think it's too dangerous. Second, we don't have so many birds' nests around anymore.
However, early one spring day, my dream came true.
It was a Saturday morning. My dad's best friend, who I call Uncle Ben, invited us to visit his business. He sold used cars at his shop outside the city. It was a large parking lot.
Uncle Ben led us through the parking lot, pointing out all kinds of different cars. As we walked across the lot,we suddenly found something unusual—a bird's nest on the back wheel of a car!
I was excited to be so close. I looked at the nest in amazement. It was real—a real bird's nest with four eggs sitting inside.
Uncle Ben took a look at the eggs. He said it was a robin's nest. To protect the nest from being destroyed ,he suggested that we move it to a tree beside the parking lot. We all hoped that the robin would find her new home and her baby birds.
( )31. What does the underlined word “that” in Paragraph 2 refer to
A. Keeping small baby birds.
B. Climbing trees with friends.
C. Listening to childhood stories.
D. Looking at a bird's nest in a tree.
( )32. Who did the writer go to Uncle Ben's shop with
A. His father. B. His friends.
C. His wife. D. His son.
( )33. How did the writer feel when he got close to the bird's nest
A. Bored. B. Worried.
C. Excited. D. Relaxed.
( )34. What do we know about the bird's nest the writer saw
A. It needed to be repaired.
B. There were four eggs in it.
C. Uncle Ben built it for a robin.
D. It was built in the front of a car.
( )35. What can we learn about Uncle Ben from the passage
A. He cares for birds.
B. He has many friends.
C. He is patient with kids.
D. He is good at repairing cars.

Children's lives have changed a lot in the past few years. But do they have a happier childhood than I did
__36__ I have four brothers and sisters, and my memories are all about being with them. We used to play board games in the living room, spend days in the street with other children, race up and down on our bikes,or explore(探究) the nearby woods. __37__They only appeared during meals.
These days, the nature of childhood has changed. Firstly, families are smaller. It is common for both parents to work in the place far away from their hometown. They don't have any ways to take their children with them. __38__Another change is that children spend most of their free time at home, inside. Parents worry too much about their children's safety,so they don't allow their children to play outside by themselves.
Finally, the toys children have and the ways they play are completely different. __39__The funny thing is that so many ways of playing games are called “interactive(互动的)”. The fact that you can play electronic games on your own increases the sense of loneliness. __40__I'm not sure about that, but perhaps every generation(一代人) feels exactly the same.
根据材料内容,从下面五个选项中选出能填入文中空缺处的最佳选项,使文章意思通顺、内容完整。
A. I usually look back on my own childhood. B. As a result, children spend much of their time alone. C. My parents seldom appeared at the moments. D. Do these changes mean that children today have a less relaxing childhood than I had E. Computer and video games have taken the place of the board games and other interesting activities of my childhood.
