短篇小说The Whistle (寒笛)中的写景片段：
原文1：
Night fell. The darkness was thin, like some sleazy dress that has been worn and worn for many winters and always lets the cold through to the bones. Then the moon rose.
译文1：
夜色降临, 暮色稀薄, 犹如穿过了数个冬季的敝衣, 难以抵御刺骨的严寒。而后月亮升起。
原文2：
A fire still fluttered in the grate (壁炉炉膛), ... like a bird trying to find its way out of the room.
译文2：
一团火还在壁炉炉膛里舞动着，就像一只挣脱束缚的鸟。
如果说详细一点就是：
平平无奇的交代下自然现象+比喻（定语从句或非谓语修饰）+突出特点(冷得不得了)

（1）夜晚与月光
月亮出现了片刻，她似乎向我投去一个迷茫、沉闷的目光，然后立刻又把自己埋在了深深的云朵里。
The moon appeared momentarily, and she seemed to throw me a bewildered, dreary glance ,and buried herself again instantly in the deep drift of cloud.
然后，月亮在其其优雅的白色光芒的映衬下出现，照亮了无云的天空；最后，它慢慢地移动，在河面上投下一大片光，像无数星星一样闪闪发光。
Then the moon appeared in all its elegant whiteness, lightening up the cloudless sky ;finally, moving more slowly, it cast on the surface of the river a large parch of light which glittered like an infinity of stars.
被群星围困的月亮似乎照亮了黑夜，带来了在黑暗中闪耀和悬挂着的群星。无尽的黑暗吞噬了一切。
The moon under siege by stars seemed to lighten the night bringing forth stars that shone and hung in the blackness. The never ending blackness consumed everything.
（2）中午与太阳
当夏日的微风吹过时，我漫步在一座小山上。抬头一看，我看到太阳比我以前所知道的还要明亮。
I strolled up a large hill as the summer breeze pushed past. Looking up, I saw the sun shine brighter than I ever knew before.
太阳处于最高点，就像一只恶毒的、不眨眼的黄眼睛从无云的天空中凝视着我。
The sun was at it’s highest, like a vicious unblinking yellow eye stares down at me from the cloudless sky.
（3）鸟
鸟儿飞过黎明中画布般的苍穹，仿佛它们的翅膀是细细的羽毛笔，画出了如此欢快的色彩。The birds flew through that ever developing canvas of the dawn, as if their wings were fine quills, drawing such buoyant hues.
森林是一支由鸟儿们组成的管弦乐队，演奏着一首又一首迷人的交响乐。
The forest is the orchestra consisted of the birds, playing one enchanting symphony after another.
他们的白身体翱翔于天空。巨大而美丽的翅膀划破了银白色云层。它们的身影在上方的湛蓝天空中显得格外突出，只有几小片云彩可以遮掩他们。
Their white bodies soared across the skies. The silver linings of the clouds were being sliced by vast, beautiful wings. Their figures stood prominent in the bright blue above, with only small pockets of clouds to hide them.
（4）树
这棵树从草地上笔直地立着，它的粉红的花朵随风飘散，就像一个跳舞的芭蕾舞演员。新叶在晨露中闪闪发光。
The tree stood erect from the grass, its pink blossom blew away with a large gust of wind as graceful a dancing ballerina. The new leaves sparkled with the morning dew.

The tree stood out from the rest of the landscape, bathed in a bright angelic light.
（5）风、雨、雪、烟、雾、云
A cold breeze blew through her soft hair.

The clouds had spread and nearly covered the entire sky
