◆教学情景导入
1. Greetings.
2. Retell the story in Lesson 62.
3. Lead in by showing a kite and a plastic dragon to the students. Ask “ Do you know the things Who can tell me the name of them ”
◆教学过程设计
Step 1: Presentation
Teacher: ( point to the kite) What’s this I forget how to say it in English.
Student A: I remember. It’s a ______.
Teacher: ( Point to another object ) I forget what this is.
Student B: I remember it’s a ______.

Teacher: Let’s listen to the tape and see what Li Ming give Jenny and Danny as a gift.
Step 2: Listen and read
Play the audiotape as the students follow along in their student books. Then ask the students read after.
Find out the answers of the questions below:
1. How do Danny and Jenny feel about Li Ming
2. How long will it take Li Ming from Canada to Beijing
3. What does Li Ming gave Danny as a gift
4. What does Li Ming give Jenny as a gift
Step 3: Read and act
1. Read the passage by themselves.
2. Ask volunteers to act the dialogue in groups.
Step 4 Practice
1. Use a big clock to demonstrate :
1) Teacher: How long is an English class How long Look!
Students: It’s ______ hours / minutes long.
2) Teacher: How far is it from Canada to China
Students: It’s about eight thousand five hundred kilometers.
Teacher: Li Ming is leaving for China. How long is the trip
Students: It’s eleven hours. That’s a long trip.
Step 5: Make similar dialogues
Work in small groups. Ask the students to make similar dialogues about giving gifts to each other.
For example:

Step 6: Sing a song
1. Read the lyrics line by line.
2. Listen to the audiotape.
3. Sing together.
