“that”的用法：
“that”兼有多种词性：
A. 限定词。表示指示为“那一个的…”。比如：
That dog died.
We meet a special girl in that small town.
That man from Wuhan now has nowhere to live in.
B. 副词。相当于“那么地”，比如：
It's about that long.
He is not that lucky for me.
Thanks for making me that strong.
The medicine is not that important for me.
I am sorry, I shouldn't be that rude just now.
“that”的用法：
How could you do that
The weather in Beijing is colder than that in Shanghai.
The population of China is larger than that of Japan.
1). 代指你知我知或前文提到的内容(常用在比较句式中)。比如：
C. 代称词。表示“那一个人/事/物”等。具体用在以下情况下。
Their cars are much better than those of ours.
▲ 需要注意的问题：如果是复数跟复数内容对比，那要用“those”替代“that”。比如：
She said she'd met you in England, and that's true.
--“I‘ve never been to Paris.” --“That’s a pity. You should go one day.”
2). 也可以用来指代前面一个句子表述的内容。比如：
指代“weather”
指代“population”
“that”的用法：
D. 充当连接词，用在强调句中，没有真正意思。比如：
It was only the two passengers that got hurt.
When and where was it that you were born
It was not until his wife came back that he went to bed.
E. 充当连接词，用在主语/表语/宾语/同位语从句中，没有真正意思。比如：
That she is still alive encourages us.
It's said that you were ill yesterday, is it true
I think (that) it is his cup.
I heard (that) he was late for school.
My suggestion is that we should make a plan first.
The idea that modern art can only be seen in museums is mistaken.
指人时也可用“who”
“that”的用法：
F. 充当连接词，跟“so/such”搭配用在结果状语从句中，没有真正意思。比如：
The question is so difficult that nobody can answer it.
This is such a difficult task that nobody can work it out.
Such an interesting book is it that John has read it twice.
G. 充当名称代称性连接词，用在定语从句中，代指被修饰的中心词。比如：
Thirteen is the number that some people think unlucky.
H. 在下列特殊句式中，引导主语从句。比如：
It’s the time that we should have a rest.
It’s the first time that he has dealt with the problem.
