课题 Unit 4 Road safety (Story time)
教学目标 By the end of the lesson, the students should be able to :Listen, speak, read and understand the new words and phrases: safety, zebra crossing, pavement, look out for, easily, rule, stay, road, must, safe, follow, light；Listen, read, say and understand the sentence structures: You must … You mustn’t …;Understand the text and know how to cross the road safely;Read the text correctly and fluently;Use the new sentences to make some other traffic rules.

Understand the phrases: the traffic light;Read the text quickly and find out the main idea sentence.Read the text on Page36, underline the sentences about the rules at the zebra crossing; try to understand the words: safely, must, mustn’t;Act;Read the text on Page37, underline the other rules and share the ideas in groups;Try to understand about these:What does “pavement” mean Why should we look left, then right and then left again when we cross the road What else mustn’t we do on the road Read the text after the tape;Understand and learn the tip;Make the driving rules for the drivers after watching the video by themselves in pairs. Make a free talk with the students.Show them the pictures and the sentences;Make a summary.Help them to choose the correct topic according to the pictures;Check their understanding of “the traffic lights”;Check the answers about the rules at the zebra crossing.Organize the action;Ask three questions to check.Show the tip;Play the video;Show them the requirements of the activity. 从“habit”角度巧妙切入，通过图片和句子的判断初步了解马路行走的正确方式，为课文理解做好铺垫。引导学生根据图片猜测课文主题；根据图片将课文合理分段；根据图片理解单词，真正将本单元Tip(The pictures can help you understand the text.)的精髓贯穿于课文理解的始终，从而给学生实实在在的方法指导和能力 训练。课文理解的过程中穿插学生的模仿表演和思维的拓展训练，能力训练活动丰富、目标突出，效果好。从马路上行走规则的理解到同样重要的驾驶规则的制定，这个活动是一个从课内到课外的过程，从语言理解掌握到语言输出运用的过程，学生语言运用的能力由此得到真正地训练。
