定语形容词比较级:
比如:
This monkey has a longer tail.
I would like a smaller room.
Then he asked us an easier question.
You need to give them some more difficult questions.
There are more students in Class One than in Class Two.
My friend earned much more money than I did last year.
These shoes are a bit small for me. Could you please show me a larger size
Earlier birds get worms.
The taller building there is red.
I have got a more interesting book.
定语形容词最高级:
This monkey has the longest tail. I would like your smallest room.
Then he asked us the(an) easiest question. The Earliest birds get the worms.
I have got the(a) most interesting book. This tallest building is red.
Don’t go to Sun Hotel, it has the worst service in this town.
These shoes are a bit small for me. Could you please show me the largest size
You need to give them those most difficult questions.
What they need are these smartest students.
▲ 定语形容词最高级情况下,一般常用”the”进行限定,表示”最…的那一个”。
但绝对不仅限于”the”,其它只要是特指类的限定词也是可以的。
1. “…as…as…”构成的句式:
My grandpa is as energetic(精力旺盛) as a young man.
Exercise is as useful a way as any other to lose unwanted weight.
I try to find as much information as I can about what happened.
The dining hall is three times as large as that one.
The film is not as good as the one I saw yesterday.
2. “…so…as…”构成的句式:
It’s so cold as yesterday.
There is nothing so beautiful as the creation of a new life.
Luckily, the weather is not so wet as it is today. (同级比较的否定句形式)
It is not so hard as it looks.
其它比较句式:
3. “…such…as…”构成的句式:
I've never seen such a strange and wonderful carpet(地毯) as this!
I have never witnessed(目击见证) such a wonder child(神童) as he.
4. “…the same…as…”构成的句式:
His wind-breaker(风衣/防风夹克衫) is the same as yours.
Driving a boat is not the same as driving a car.
The landscape(乡村风景/景色) is just the same as before.
其它比较句式:
5. “…the more…, the more…”构成的句式:
The higher we go above the earth, the thinner the air is.
The more they worked, the more energetic(精力充沛的) they became.
The more you fail, the faster you will succeed.
6. “…more and more…”构成的句式:
She felt herself becoming more and more nervous.
As the winter is drawing near, it's getting colder and colder.
She is becoming more and more beautiful.
其它比较句式:
一般不用比较的一些情况:
并不是所有的形容描述词都会用比较级或最高级,比如以下这些词一般就不用:
1). 表示国籍的形容词:Chinese, English, Japanese, …
2). 表示方位和时间的形容词:east, west, inside, outside, past, …
3). 表示绝对概念的词和已达极限的形容词:perfect, blind, dead, first, last, favorite, …
4). 说明物体材质和形状的形容词:solid, round, plastic, …
5). 表示顺序或者时间的形容词:first, second, third, next, last, several, over(结束的), daily, …
6). 表示天气状况的形容词:rainy, sunny, windy, snowy, stormy, foggy, …
7). 表状态的表语形容词:alone, awake, alive, sorry, …
8). 本身就有比较级含义的形容词:junior, minor, superior, …
9). 其它一些形容词:any, really, lost, missing, …
其它一些特殊情况:
不常用比较级、但可以有最高级的一些形容词:
dear(亲爱的),一般不常用dearer, 但可以有:my dearest friend
deep(深切的),一般不常用deeper, 但可以有:my deepest thanks for your kindness
open-opener (开瓶器,不表示更开放的)
clean-cleaner (清洁工,也可表示更干净的)
加”er”意思不同的词:
outside-outsider (外人,不表示更外边的)
correct-correcter (修正液,不表示更正确的)
