Step 2 1. Prediction The teacher asks students to read the introduction to the film and answer the questions: Can you imagine how Forrest Gump’s first day of school is like Why Possible answer: He may have a very tough day because his IQ is only 75. He may be bullied by other students. He may have some new friends because he is a simple and warm person. 根据introduction的内容做适当的猜测、揣摩。 16’ Class work Individual work
Step 3 First Reading The teacher has students read the script and finish Part A on Page 12. When discussing the answers, the teacher guides students to do some character analysis. Character analysis Why do you think Forrest Gump is close to his mum Momma said … My momma said … And next to Momma, no one ever talked to me and asked me questions. Mommy says … 阅读剧本，提取有关故事情节、人物关系、性格的信息。
Step 4 Second reading The teacher asks students to imagine themselves as the characters and read aloud the lines with appropriate intonation and emotion. Ask the following questions to help students: How to show that Forrest Gump is simple How to show that Jenny is direct 进一步揣摩台词，用恰当的语言表达人物性格。
Role play
Step 5 The teacher divides students into groups and asks them to role-play the excerpt. The teacher can ask two groups or more to act it out in class. 利用角色扮演，让学生展现对剧本的理解。 10’ Group work

Step 6 The teacher asks students to discuss what lines they like best in this play and explain why. 引导学生深挖文本，深入理解台词含义。 15’ Class work Group work
Step 7 The teacher has students form groups of four. Each student writes their favourite movie lines on paper and tells each other why they like them. 让学生相互交流他们最喜欢的台词，欣赏台词之美。
Step 8 The teacher shows the video of the film scene and guides students to experience how professional acting, visual and sound effects add to the beauty of a film. 播放视频让学生欣赏，体会一个完整的影视作品的美。
