Promoting traditional Chinese festivals
教学目标
By the end of this section, students will be able to:
1. describe the reasons and ways to promote the traditional Chinese festivals clearly and logically;
2. know how to write an article to promote the traditional Chinese festivals;
3. write an article to promote traditional festivals.

1. To learn the structure and language of a good article to promote the traditional Chinese festivals;
2. To write an article to promote the traditional Chinese festivals.

Step 1 The teacher leads students into the writing task by asking them the following questions: 1. Why should we promote the traditional Chinese festivals 2. How can we promote the traditional Chinese festivals 复习、整理已知，导入本节写作课的主要内容。 5’ Individual work Group work

Step 2 After students answer the previous questions, the teacher presents the structure of the article they are going to write. 1. State the importance of promoting traditional Chinese festivals; 2. Offer ways to promote traditional Chinese festivals; 3. Make a call for action and describe a positive result you would like to see. 铺陈写作结构和语言特点，为学生着手写作做好准备。 4’ Class work
Step 3 The teacher presents the language students should pay attention to while writing. 1. Organize your points with first of all, moreover, finally/last but not least, etc. if you give more than one way to promote traditional Chinese festivals. 2. Step 4 The teacher helps students start drafting the article by providing them with a semi-finished article and asks them to fill in the blanks.
