一、学情分析 所带班级属于农村初级中学，学生来自附近乡镇，有的学校在小学开设英语课，属于摆设；有的学校甚至没有专业英语老师，没法开英语课程。由于学生的基础相当薄弱，水平不一，所以我在教学的过程中会尽量通过丰富多彩的信息技术活动，多媒体播放音视频，生动活泼的课件展示，让所有学生都参与到活动中来，从而激发学生的学习兴趣、提高学习积极性和自信心。
二、教材分析 本单元的中心话题是运用一些描述性的词语来描述一些动物，并说明自己对这些动物喜好的原因；这一课时同时要求学生认识到人类对动物的危害，进行热爱动物的情感教育。
三、教学目标设计 ·语言知识 单词和短语：symbol，flag，forget，get lost，place，water，danger，be in （great）danger，cut，down，kill，ivory，over，（be）made of
·语言技能 —What animals do you like？—I like elephants。—Why？—Because they’re cute。
·情感态度与价值 Animals are our friends。 Educate students to love the animals and protect them。

学生活动 Guess the animal and discuss something about elephants。
设计意图 通过猜谜游戏，让学生展开想象的空间；日常生活的大象材料制品让学生感触到动物的濒危处境，保护动物保护环境的心境由此激发。
New Teaching 教学过程 Read the instructions to the class。Find the topic sentences and key words of each paragraph。Play the tape。Retell the article 。
教师活动 Ask: Why are they important？What are they like？Why are they in great danger？How to protect them？
学生活动 Fast reading ： find out the topic sentences and key words of each paragraph。Careful reading：discuss the questions with their teammates and one of them explains the answer。Stick their answers on the blackboard。Retell the article ：try to retell the article according to the mind-map。
设计意图 通过让学生分组快读、细读、复述课文，培养学生良好的阅读习惯和合作能力；根据思维导图复述课文可以锻炼学生的口语表达能力，提高表达和写作技巧。
Pair work 教学过程 Make an interview。
教师活动 T:Let’s divide us into two groups，one group is from China，the other group is from Thailand，talk something about elephants according to the article。
学生活动 Act out their interviews。
设计意图 学生根据PPT演绎采访环节，对句子中重点短语出设置空白，学生依靠对课文的理解进行补充，巩固重点短语的用法。
Summary 教学过程 Play a short movie and make rules to protect animals in our lives。
教师活动 T：Let’s watch a short movie，“What do you think of the elephants？”，“Why are they in great danger？”，“As students ，what should we do？”
学生活动 Discuss and make rules。A: Don’t hunt them。B: Fight against someone who kills elephants。......
设计意图 通过播放大象温和粗壮、憨态可掬的日常生活与人们肆意捕猎大象及其他动物的画面，让学生的心灵受到震撼，“没有买卖就没有杀戮”激发保护动物保护自然的情感。
