教材分析 本单元是六年级下Module2 Good manners中的一个单元，这是个非常生活化的话题。本节课是本单元的第一个课时，学生将会学习一个小男孩和魔法树的故事，并从中学到礼貌用语的重要性。本单元的长句与新词汇较多，且为一般过去时态，学生在对理解与运用上有一定的难度。
学情分析 本班大部分学生有积极的学习态度和良好的学习习惯，能够通过在课前和课上开展自主学习和合作学习。学生在课前已对本课进行预习、朗读。另外，学生之前学过文明礼貌相关主题的知识，有一定的讲文明的生活态度。学生在学习本课时，可能会在表达时显现出自身语言的局限性。

Step2: Pre-reading Picture walk What can you see in these pictures 学习新词：sign，,upset，dark Step3:While-reading General reading（Read the story quickly and find out.） Q：What are the magic words -- --“Please” and “thank you” are the magic words. Make up a new story.（You can draw more polite behaviors at the worksheet if you want.） Step1:请学生观看G先生的视频，激发学生学习兴趣的同时引入本课主题。 Step2: 图片环游，引导学生浏览插图，并在情境体验，以此在激发其对故事内容产生感性认知。同时，也能激发学生阅读的兴趣，促进学生的想象力，提高学生的思维能力，增进学生对故事的理解。 Step3. 进入阅读环节，培养学生的阅读技能：skimming and scanning, dramatic reading等。针对故事的发展设计问题，由于本课的内容篇幅较长，内容较难理解，所以问题的设计较细，旨在帮助学生更好理解故事内容。同时提出假设性问题，给予学生发挥想象的空间。 Step4: 通过板书的思维导图进行复述，提高学生的运用技能。并进行小组合作，把故事演绎出来，提高学生的合作精神与互帮互助、携手进步的学习态度，同时提高语言运用能力。 走出课本，神奇的语言实际上指的是礼貌用语，让学生发表他们所知道的礼貌用语，并提醒学生日常生活中不忘礼貌待人。
