My daughter is 6 years old. I let her take two courses, one was traditional Chinese dance, and the other was child modeling. She quickly picked up the latter (后者).
She has modeling classes once a week. I’m sure that the classes will make her more confident (自信的).
Before, my daughter was too afraid to take the subway because she would have to meet so many people. Her little face would turn pale with fear. That meant she always stayed at home, so I thought it necessary to take her out more to see the outside world.
After taking the classes for more than a year, I noticed her progress. She dares to speak with strangers. Even on the T-stage, she can behave herself. So attending model classes was the correct decision for her.
On the stage, she is serious and cool. But after classes or a performance, she becomes a lively kid again.
If she has a chance to be a T-stage show model, I won’t refuse the invitations for her. I will support her to do these jobs in her free time if she wants.
I think parents shouldn’t impose their ideas on their children because it’s unfair to the child. In the future, if she has an interest in physics or English, I will also continue to support her.
( )30. Why did the writer support her daughter to attend the classes
A. Because she hoped her daughter would be a model.
B. Because she wanted to see her daughter perform on the stage.
C. Because her daughter was good at traditional Chinese dance.
D. Because she thought they could help make her more confident.
( )31. What does the underlined word “impose” mean in Chinese
A. 引导 B. 强加 C. 解释 D. 摆脱
( )32. What might be the best title for the passage
A. My daughter’s dream B. A lively girl
C. A model on the T-stage D. I’ll support my daughter

In high school, I took part in a hockey(冰球)club. I thought that my coach was so smart that he put life lessons into nearly every hockey lesson. So everyone in my club respected him.
One day, he introduced a new skill of skating backwards(向后) from one end of the skating area to the other. It is a very difficult skill even for top players, and easy to fall down.
We all did the skill carefully because we didn't want to fall down. When we stood together at the other end, our coach was angry with us because we didn't try our best: no one fell. He ordered us to do it again, and if we didn't fall, then it was because we weren't trying hard enough.
During the next round, everyone did his best and fell down. At last, we understood that the point of the skill was to push us beyond(超出)our abilities. As we did the skill each week, we could all see and feel ourselves improving and getting better. We kept falling, but we got faster and covered more ground. Only when you get out of the “comfortable area”, can you improve yourself.
