①ago“以前”，主要用于“一段时间+ago”，表示“……以前”，用于一般过去时。
e.g. 两年前，我就会弹吉他了。

注意：before”以前”，可单独使用，也可接时间点和句子。ago则不可以。
e.g.我以前不会弹吉他。
I couldn’t play the guitar before.

②could是can的过去式；其否定形式是couldn't；其后接动词原形。
注意：当表示请求许可时，could比can的语气更委婉，主要用于疑问句，不能用于肯定句，回答时仍用can。
