I. pre-task Ask the students to do a miming game. Give some phrases with “v.+adv.” form, let the students act them out. walk quickly; eat ice cream happily; play the piano wonderfully, etc. Ask the students to complete the sentences with the proper form of some words. Emphasize the “v.+adv.” form. Play the miming game. Some act the phrases out, and the others guess what the phrases plete the sentences with the proper form of the words
II while-task Show some pictures. Ask the students a question: “What can you see … doing in the picture ” to let them practice the phrase see sb. doing sth. Show the pictures in the text. Each stands for a gentle wind, a strong wind, and a typhoon. Ask the students tell the correct answers. By giving some key words to them, ask them what they can see in the pictures. Give them a sentence structure: When there is __________, I can see _________. Ask the students to complete the sentences according to the pictures. Ask the students to do pair work like this: S1: What can you see when there is _______ S2: I can see _________ when there is ________.
