Section D教学设计
一、整体设计思路、指导依据说明
通过对教材文本的解读,力求培养学生的读写能力。设计基本思路为:
1、本课定性为读写课,根据中考和学生实际情况围绕教材和教学目标设计教学活动。
2、重视学生过程参与,重点培养学生的语言能力和学习能力。
3、注重语言运用和写作指导,提升学生的创新品质和文化品格。
本节课通过习题复习语法,通过完成任务型阅读来提升学生的阅读能力,通过学习写作结构、文章分享来培养学生的语言输出能力及写作能力。同时,在教学中营造积极、合作的氛围,充分激发学生的求知欲望。
二、教学背景
1、教学内容分析:八年级下册Unit 8 Topic 1 Section D 部分首先通过
Grammar and Functions复习本话题的语法点;其次通过Part 1的阅读材料,让学生清楚衣服的功能,同时培养学生在阅读中提升阅读能力;最后训练学生从短语到句子再到短文的语言输出能力。设计重参与,重合作和重思维的教学活动,从而实现培养学生的读写能力。
2、学生情况分析:本节课属本班上课,学生的语言基础,学习能力都有十分清楚了解。本节读写课通过阅读输入、语言输出逐步引导学生,课堂灵活应对,努力在整个教学过程中关注学生参与课堂,注重形成性评价,强调学生参与的重要性和学习能力的提升,让学生学有所获,并逐步体会到学习的快乐,从而为以后的英语学习奠定基础。
三、教学目标
语言能力目标:
(1)能准确运用以下单词和短语:
discuss, meaning, be made of/from, so…that, such…that.., so that
(2)能流利地运用英语讨论服装的功能:
But nowadays, clothes do more than just keep us warm…….
(3)能自由运用英语讨论不同的人穿什么样的衣服:
fat people, short people, tall and thin people, people with broad waists….
学习能力目标:
(1)能用找新单词、找主旨句和找核心词汇等阅读技能读懂文本,完成阅读任务。
(2)能用课文中出现的重点词汇和句型谈论服装的作用。
(3)能按要求完成写作任务。
文化能力目标:
让学生谈论从古至今服装的作用,了解服装的重要性,知晓服装也是一国文化的一部分,从而养成良好的着装习惯并尊重不同国家不同文化下的着装。
四、教学重、难点
1. 教学重点:
(1)掌握本节课的新单词,如skin, material, uniform, kimono, function, discuss, meaning…
(2)掌握本节课的短语:be made of / from, protect… from…, more than等。
(3)复习由so.. that.. such.. that.. so that引导的结果状语从句,完成任务型阅读。
(4)培养学生的写作技巧。
2. 教学难点:
培养学生的英语阅读能力和语言输出能力。
五、教学过程
Step 1. Warming up and leading in

2. Lead to the new lesson and show the learning objectives.
Step 2. Review
1. Finish the Grammar part. And then summarize the use of so… that, so that, such … that.
2. Do some exercises about the grammar.
Step 3. Pre-reading
1. Show a picture of a Swiss Army Knife, teach new words function and material.
2. Show more pictures to help the Ss learn the new words and expressions.
3. Let the Ss think about a question, what are the functions of clothes
4. Show the pictures in 1a. Let the Ss look at the pictures and guess about the people based on what they wear.
Step 4. While-reading
1. Let the Ss read the passage and choose the best answers for two questions.
2. Let the Ss read the passage again and complete the sentences.
3. Watch the video and understand.
4. Listen to the tape and follow.
5. Explain the key points in the passage.
6. Let the Ss try to retell the passage with the help of some given words.

The first types of clothes were made of animal skins. People started to wear clothes so that they could protect themselves from the sun, wind, rain and cold.
Today, we use different materials to make different kinds of clothes. But nowadays, clothes do more than just keep us warm. Clothing can also show people our jobs, our culture, our hobbies and even our moods. For example, when we see a man in a uniform, we can guess his job from the uniform. When we see a woman in a kimono, we may think that she is Japanese. If a man always wears sportswear, we may think he is active and likes doing exercise. If a person always wears yellow or pink clothes, maybe he or she is lively and easy-going. We get ideas about people from their clothes. As the saying goes, “You are what you wear.”

Different people like wearing different kinds of clothes. But how to dress correctly Here are some suggestions.
Fat people should wear dark color clothes and simple styles. Because these clothes will make them look smaller. But I think they shouldn’t wear bright or light colors. Short people look good in soft colors, and their clothes had better not have big contrasts. What’s more, fancy designs or flowers will make them look shorter. If people are tall and thin, they should wear warm colors so that they will appear strong and full. Dark or cold-colored clothes will look good on people with broad waists. They wear such pretty clothes that they will look slimmer.
In short, dressing correctly is quite important.
