Objectives To learn the phrases: go for a walk, milk a cow, ride a horse, feed chickens, talk with a farmer, take some photos… To learn to talk about past events. —Did you ride a horse —Yes, I did./No, I didn’t. Procedure
Lead-in Students Watch a short video and answer the question. What animals does Old MacDonald have on the farm
Then lead students to learn the words of animals and key phrases according to the pictures.
Step 1 Presentation: Students do the ask and answer practice according to the pictures, lead them to learn the key phrases of daily activities. A: What do people often do on weekends B: They often … A:What did people do last weekend B: They … .
While practice saying the sentences, students pay attention to the differences of the verbs. Then students do more speaking practice: A: What did he/she/you do last weekend/yesterday B: He/She/I … .
While practicing, they should pay attention to the times. 1a: Match the phrases with the pictures. 1b: Listen and circle the three things Carol did on her school trip in 1a. Students do consolidation practice by guessing what the people in the pictures did in the past. 2a: Listen and check(√) the questions you hear. Read and understand the sentences. 1.
