Ⅰ. Material analysis
本节课是第八单元话题一的第二课时,继续谈论天气以及气温,主要活动是1a和2a。
通过Michael 和妈妈之间的电话对话,复习询问天气的表达法同时学习新的问候的表达方式:How are things going 以及给予建议的新表达:
Remember to put on your raincoat when you go outside; 另外通过图片和单词的配对活动,学习表示天气的形容词,并进一步掌握形容词的构词法;还将学习询问及回答气温的表达方式以及训练学生理解天气预报图,从中获取天气和气温信息的能力。
Ⅱ. Teaching aims 1. Knowledge aims
能根据已学语音、音标及发音规则,正确朗读下列词汇并运用于情景对话中:
rainy, remember, outside, snowy, windy, cloudy, foggy, bright, temperature, low
能够熟练掌握问候的表达方式:
How are things going
能够熟练掌握提供建议的表达方式:
Remember to put on your raincoat when you go outside.
能够掌握名词变形容词的构词法:
sun—sunny, cloud—cloudy, wind—windy, rain—rainy, fog—foggy, snow—snowy
继续学习一般现在时和一般过去时,如: —What is the weather like in Beijing?
—It’s rainy today, but it was sunny and warm yesterday.

能够听懂有关询问天气状况的对话和短文;
能够根据听到的词语识别或指认图片或实物;
能够在老师的指导下进行简单的角色表演;
能够写出谈论天气的对话和句子。
优等生可以做简单的天气报告。

Step 1 Warming up and leading in
Enjoy a song: How is the weather
Lead to the new lesson and show learning aims.
Explain the competition rules.
Step 2. Weather
Show some pictures and teach the new words and expressions.
Round 1. Look at the weather signs and say the words.
Write the adjective forms according to the nouns. Then try to find the rules.
Pair work to practice the expressions and the new words.
Listen to 1a and complete the table.
Watch the video to make sure the Ss understand the conversation.
Round 2. Read 1a and act it out.
Step 3. Temperature
Show a picture and present the new expressions about temperature.
Let the Ss complete the conversation and then listen and check the answers.
Pair work to practice the conversation.
Teach the Ss how to read the temperature.
Look at the chart in 2b and ask the Ss to answer the questions.
Round 3. Give some key information with pictures or numbers, and let the Ss talk about them.
(Example:
It’s foggy today. I can’t see the whole building.
The temperature is between 14 ℃ - 29 ℃.
You’d better no go outside.)
Step 4. Exercises (Weather Report)
Listen to the weather reports and complete the table. Finish 3.
Read the report and get to know how to make it.
Give a weather report for two cities in Henan according to the table.
