Teaching Procedure Step1. Lead-in Introduce my favourite story---Ugly duckling. Step2. Presentation1. Guess what story is it according to the main idea of each story. 2. Present the picture of Mulan and write the new words smart, brave and hard-working on the board. Explain their meanings and tell the students that they are adjectives they can be used to describe Mulan. 3. Use the same method to introduce Robin Hood, Cinderrella and Monkey King. 4. Show the pictures of Michael Jackson, Zhuge liang, Wang baoqiang and Zhao benshan, and match the characters with the new words. 5. Game 1: Quickest EyesA picture of a new word or person flashes on the screen, the students try to see it clearly and say the word or the name. Who can say it correctly is the winner. 6. Game 2: Treasure Box When the music stops, the student picks up one piece of paper from the box and makes sentence according to the words on the paper. Step3. PracticePair-work: Introduce your favourite book. A: Which book do you like B: It is________. I like __________ the best.He / She is _________________.How about you A: My favourite is ___________. He / She is____________.Guess who is he/ she Guess the student in our class according to different descriptions. My favourite story is the ugly duckling.
He was ugly at first. The other ducks are not nice to him but he didn’t give up. He practised hard. Finally, he becomes one of the most beautiful swans.
