Step 1 Greetings and revision
Review the present perfect tense by greeting and talking with the students.
Step 2 Warm up
Show some pictures and guess the places, then read these new words and phrases.
To present the key structure” Have you ever been to ...”
Step 3 Pair work
Give students some pictures and ask them to work in pairs to practice the conversation:
”Have you ever been to ...”
“Yes, I have./No, I haven’t.”
Step 4 Pre-listening
Look at some pictures.
Rank these places from 1-5 in 1a.
Read and act the dialogue in 1a.
Step 5 Listening
1b: Listen and try to find out. Have these students ever been to these places
Step 6 Pair work
Ask and answer in pairs:
A: Let’s go somewhere different today.
B: OK. Where do you want to go
A: Have you ever been to ....
B: No, I haven’t. How about you
A:.....
Students read the sample dialogue, then make up their own.
Step 7 Listening
2a: Listen and circle the places that you hear.
2b: Listen again and circle T for true of F for false.
Step 8 Pair work
Point to the map and tell students they can talk about any of the places on the map.
Ask two students to read the sample dialogue.
Have students work with their partners. Talk about where they have been and where they want to go. And talk about how they will get to these places.
Summary
Ask one or two students to summarize what we have learned today.
Doing some exercises.
Homework
Making up ten sentences by using the present perfect tense.
