教学设计
本单元是第十一模块的第一个单元,本单元的对话选取了初次见面和表达问候时的身势语为题材。玲玲所在学校即将迎来一批俄罗斯来访教师，玲玲和贝蒂一起展开对话，讨论了俄罗斯人、美国人、印度人以及新西兰毛利人不同的身势语。与国外师生的交流互动在中国的许多学校以及越来越普遍。虽然我校是一所乡镇初中，目前没有这方面的活动，但是通过学习本课，学生可以接触到不同国家在见面时所用的身势语，了解不同国家间的交往礼仪，开阔视野，提高英语学习热情，这对他们今后的学习和生活十分有帮助。另外，身势语也有助于学生在日常生活中更好地与家人、同学、朋友交流，加深亲情和友谊。为帮助学生走进文本，加深学生对身势语的体验，特制定以下教学目标：

1.功能：介绍不同国家的身势语；
2.词汇：见单词表
（二）语言技能目标
1. 听：能够听懂有关身势语的对话；
2. 读：能够读懂简单的介绍不同国家身势语的短文；
3. 说：能够运用所学的身势语与不同国家的人们打招呼；

1. 自学策略：能体会、关注不同国家的文化在身势语上体现出的差别；
2. 合作学习策略：注意从他人的演示中汲取知识；
（四）文化意识
能够尝试比较不同国家身势语的异同，通过身势语了解世界不同地方的风俗习惯

通过阅读有关身势语的文章，提高对英语的学习兴趣，学会尊重他人，尊重各民族不同的风俗文化。
三、教学重难点：
1. shake hands, kiss, smile, hug, put hands together, nod the heads, touch noses等词汇和短语的用法。
2. 学生能够运用本课所学的词汇和短语，介绍中国人、俄罗斯人、美国人、印度人以及新西兰毛利人不同的身势语，并比较不同国家的文化在身势语上体现出的差别。

五、教学设想
1.身势语是一种无形的语言，都是文化的一部分，通过学习本课，学生能够学会在日常生活和国际交流中化解误会，促进理解。
2.不同的民族，身势语有差异，也有相同点。即使同样的身势语，含义也不尽相同。因此，在国际交流中，学生应遵循入乡随俗的原则，充分了解和尊重各民族的文化风俗，使用恰当的身势语。
