副词
副词的基本形式:形容词+ly结尾
副词的主要作用:用来修饰动词、形容词、其他副词或整个句子,说明时间、地点、程度、方式等。
The boy can run quickly. 这个男孩能跑得很快。(修饰动词)
The girl looks really beautiful. 这个女孩看起来真漂亮。(修饰形容词)
She sings very well. 她唱歌唱得很好。(修饰副词)
Luckily, the lost girl was found. 幸运的是,走丢的女孩被找到了。(修饰整个句子)
形容词变副词的基本规则:
(1) 大多数形容词直接加-ly,如slow—slowly。
(2) 以y结尾的形容词,变y为-i再加-ly,如happy—happily。(3)少数以e结尾的形容词,去e再加-ly,如true—truly。
(4) 大多数以辅音字母加e结尾的形容词,直接加-ly,如polite—politely。
(5) 以辅音字母加le结尾的形容词,去e再加-y,如possible—possibly。
(6) 以ll结尾的形容词,直接加-y,如dull—dully。
不以-ly结尾的副词:most, very, never
既是形容词也是副词:fast, early, hard, late, low, long
副词的比较级和最高级
1.副词的比较级和最高级的构成
(1) 单音节副词和部份双音节词:在词尾加-er或-est(以-e结尾的,直接加-r或-st)
hard—harder—hardest; fast—faster—fastest; late—later—latest
(2) 以辅音字母+y结尾的双音节副词:变y为i,再加-er或-est early—earlier—earliest
注意:slowly, quickly和clearly的比较级和最高级形式,加more和most构成比较级和最高级。

clearly—more clearly—most clearly
(3) 双音节或多音节副词:在副词前加more或most
carefully—more carefully—most carefully;
wonderfully—more wonderfully—most wonderfully
(4) 不规则变化的副词:well—better—best; badly—worse—worst; far—farther/further—farthest/furthest
2.副词原级的常见句型
(1) A+动词+as+副词原形+as+B 意为 “A和B一样……”
I study English as hard as my brother. 我和弟弟一样努力学习英语。
(2) A+助动词+not+动词原形+so(as)+副词原级+as+B 意为 “A和B不一样……”
David doesn’t write as well as John. = John writes better than David. 大卫书写不如约翰好。
3.副词比较级的常见句型
(1) A+动词+副词比较级+than+B 意为 “A比B……”
She runs faster than her sister. 她跑得比她姐姐快。
(2) much/even+副词比较级 意为 “更/甚至”
He jumps much farther than before. 他跳得比以前远多了。
The boy draws even worse than his brother. 男孩画的画甚至比他哥哥画的还糟糕。
(3) a little/a lot+副词比较级 意为 “一点儿/很多……”
Our teacher speaks a little louder. 我们老师说话声音大了一点儿。
Judy drives a lot more carefully than her husband. 朱迪比她丈夫开车认真多了。
(4) 比较级+and+比较级 意为 “越来越……”
They are eating faster and faster. 他们吃得越来越快。
He drives more and more carefully. 他开车开得越来越小心。
(5) the+比较级, the+比较级 意为 “越……,就越……”
The more carefully you study, the better you will do. 你学习越认真,你做得就越好。
(6) 特殊疑问词+动词+副词比较级,A or B 意为 “哪一个较……, A or B?”
Who draws better, Jim or Tom 谁画得更好,吉姆还是汤姆?
(7) A+动词+副词比较级+than any other+单数名词 意为 “比其他任何……”
注意:动词+副词比较级+than any other+单数名词+范围=动词+(the)+副词最高级+范围
The boy sings better than any other boy in his class. =The boy sings best in his class. 这个男孩是班里唱得最好的。
Jim got up earlier than any other boy in his class. =Jim got up earliest in his class. 吉姆比班里其他男孩起得都早。
注意:Jim got up earlier than any boy in Class One.
吉姆比一班的任何男孩都起得早。(吉姆不在一班)
4.副词最高级的常见句型
A+动词+(the)+副词最高级+of/in 意为 “……最……(the可以省略)”
He jumps highest in the high jump. 他在跳高比赛中跳得最高。
The girl sings best in our class. 这个女孩在我们班里唱歌唱得最好。

Goldfish are a common pet people keep in their homes. They usually live in bowls and are harmless. But goldfish in US waterways are a kind of invasive(入侵的) animal. Tens of millions of goldfish have invaded bodies of water across the US.
Goldfish are from Asia. They were first brought to the US more than 200 years ago. Today, they are as common in US homes as cats or dogs. But what happens when people decide they no longer want their goldfish Often, they put them into a river or lake.
Goldfish swimming in a fishbowl eat only a little food each day. But after goldfish are put into rivers and lakes, there are plenty of plants, insects and smaller fish for them to eat. These eating machines can grow to be more than a foot long. And they quickly multiply. Female goldfish lay up to 40,000 eggs a year. All those unwelcome goldfish fight with local fish for food.
The way goldfish search for food can also be harmful. They find food along the floor of a body of water. That stirs up sand mud, making it difficult for local fish to live in those conditions.
Goldfish have been seen in bodies of water from Alaska to Florida. Often, there are so many in a lake or river that it's impossible to get rid of them all. The best thing people can do is to stop putting their pet fish into rivers or lakes. People should bring unwanted goldfish to a petstore or an aquarium.
