Lesson 14 Jenny's School Life
1.Teaching thought
本课时的教学内容是冀教版(三年级衔接版)七年级英语下册第三单元的第二课时,重点在于加深对国外学校生活,校园文化的了解,从表示学校生活的词开始,自然地导入谈论学校课程的话题。以描述詹妮在加拿大埃德蒙顿的学校生活作为任务引起学生的听说兴趣,训练学生的听力和口语表达能力。利用动作、手势和图片学习英语单词,同时在文章中反复运用新学的单词和短语。因此,教师可以将知识目标定为掌握本课时新出现的词和短语,介绍詹妮在加拿大埃德蒙顿的学校生活的句型,掌握There be句型。情感目标定培养学生的英语听,说,读,写能力和翻译能力,使学生能够用英语描述詹妮在加拿大埃德蒙顿的学校生活、学习科目和课外活动。

Step 1:Greet and free talk

设计意图:通过“头脑风暴法”激发学生对学校生过的回顾,自然引出对西方国家小朋友Jenny学校生活的探究。
Step2:looking
Teacher shows pictures of Jenny’s school life to the students.Ask them the following questions:
T:What are the students doing in the picture
S:They are making things.
T:What’s in their hands
S1:It’s clay.
T:Yes.You are right.Are they having fun
S:Yes.
T:Why
S2:Because they can make many things on their own.
T:What can they do in social studies
S3:They can do a lot of projects.
[设计意图] 观察图片,用英语提问关于詹妮在加拿大埃德蒙顿学校的相关问题,有利于同学们对其有一个更加清晰、完整的思路。这样做会降低学习难度,学生会感觉今天的新内容学起来很容易。
Step3:Listening
Play the audiotape. Let the students listen to the tape and number the picture in“Let’s do it 1”.Then check the answers as a class.
设计意图:听是学习英语的重要手段,也是《中学生英语课标》要求中学生必须掌握的学习英语的基本技能之一。
Step4: New words and phrases
Lead the students to learn the new words and expressions.Ask them to make sentences with the new words and expressions.
T:Where does ×× sit
S:He sits in the middle of the classroom
T:Now read after me “middle”.
S:Middle.

Teach the new words and phrases.Ask the students read then together.You can find one student read the new words and phrases.You should pay attention their pronunciation. Translate some phrases into English.
设计意图:单词和短语是构成英语的基本要素。通过讲练结合学习法,学习本课新单词和短语。
Step5:Read and answer
Ask students to read the text and answer four questions in “Let’s do it 2”.They can do group work to talk about the questions. Check the answers as a class.
1. How many students are there in Jenny’s school
There are 400 students in Jenny’s school.
2. What do Jenny and her classmates do in social studies
In social studies, they do a lot of projects.Sometimes they work in groups. Today, they worked on a map of Canada.
3. What does Jenny do in art class
She always draws and paints.
4. In music class, do the students always play songs as a class
No, they don’t.They usually play songs as a class.But sometimes they play on their own .
设计意图:阅读能力是张学生学习英语的基本核心素养之一。也是中考英语的重中之重,教师应该在每一节课锻炼学生的英语阅读能力。
Step6:Language points
Explain the language points:
1. I am in Grade 7. 我上七年级。
注意Grade和Class 首字母大写。
2. There be (is/are) +Somebody./Something. ……
表示“某地有某人或某物”。遵循就近原则。
make...from...(过程复杂,成品与原材料有差别)
3. 用……制造{make...with...(成品与原材料很接近)
Example: We can make nylon form air,coal and water.
我们可以用空气,煤和水制造尼龙。
Sometimes we make things with clay.
有时候,我们用黏土制成东西。
4.on one’s own意为“单独;独自”,相当于alone 或 by oneself
设计意图:通过“讲一讲,练一练”。用讲练结合法完成本课重要知识点的学习。
Step7:Summary

本节课教学内容Jenny’s school life是冀教版(三年级衔接版)七年级下册第二单元第二课。本单元的主题School life.本课是在第一课How is school going 基础上,继续学校外国小朋友Jenny的学校生活。比较贴合学生的生活实际,学生也比较感兴趣。以自己在学校的生活描述对比引出外国小朋友Jenny在加拿大埃德蒙顿的学校生活。这种“对比教学法”导入新课,比较直观。在新单词学习时,用“猜测学习法”学习。这种根据已知猜测未知,比较符合学生的认知规律。教学活动开展的比较充实,锻炼了学生的英语听,说,读,写能力。用“头脑风暴法”,“思维导图”,“表格教学法”锻炼了学生的实践能力,也加深了学生对本课知识的印象。但由于时间仓促,学生在对课文总结和自己习作时,教师不能让每一位学生都当堂展示充分自己的成果。
