Step 1. Warming up and leading in
1. Enjoy a video about Sichuan and focus the Ss’ attention on the teacher.
2. Tell the Ss why let them enjoy the video.
I was born in Sichuan. I like Sichuan very much. I’d like to invite you to have a trip there.
3. Ask the Ss to have a free talk. Then lead to the new lesson.
Step 2. Review
Task 1 Review how to make a plan
1. Ask the Ss to review how to make a plan. And let them make sentences to practice the expressions about making a plan.
2. Read the sentences in Grammar.
3. Do some exercises to make sure the Ss can use the expressions correctly.
Task 2 Talk about the rules during a trip
1. Read the sentences in Functions.
2. Brainstorm
Ask the Ss talk about what we should or shouldn’t do during the trip.
Then show some pictures to help them make more sentences.
Step 3. Reading and Writing
Reading
1. Lead to the postcard in 2.
2. Let the Ss read 2 and complete the table.
3. Let the Ss read 2 again and find out the key points, then help them summarize them if necessary.
4. Let the Ss read 2 a third time and ask questions as many as they can. Then teach the ways to write about a trip.
Writing
1. Give the Ss a writing task.
Suppose you visited Nanyang city last Weekend. Write a postcard to your pen pal.
Then show some pictures of places of interest in Nanyang to help them.
2. Group work
Let each group choose a better one and make it better.
3. Have a show.
Let each group share their work with others.
