Summary
In New Zealand, the hongi is a traditional way of greeting where they touch their noses when two people meet. When Māori greet one another by pressing noses, the tradition of sharing the breath of life is considered to come directly from the gods. The breath of life can also be regarded as the sharing of both people’s souls.
The Eskimos have a traditional way called kunik. Usually, they use the way among family and loved ones. Just press the nose and upper lip against another person’s skin and breathe in, causing the loved one's skin or hair to be suctioned against the nose and upper lip. They think they can do this to show their strong love and affection.
In Thailand, a traditional greeting is known as the wai. They bow slightly press their palms together in a prayer-like manner , at the same time , they should bend the head forward and the forehead are supposed to touch the tips of the fingers. Saying Sawasdee is also a must when greeting . All of these are to express the hospitality and friendliness..
