Student analysis:
Most of the students are at the age of 12 and 13, so they are active in class. But their attention are also easily distracted and they don’t have the habit of speaking English in class. Most of the students are willing to engage in the class activities and express their own ideas. But they have difficulty in speaking English with accuracy and fluency.
Teaching procedures.
Step1.Warming-up and leading-in
a. T: Show the pictures and ask what they are talking about.
S: Look at the pictures and say they are talking about the way.
[Purpose]: Ask students to observe the pictures to lead in the new lesson.

b. T: Running dictation.Divide students into five groups, show the rules to the students and ask them to have a special dictation within 30sec. and report the result.
S: Run and remember one of the words on the wall and tell it to No.1student one by one. No.1student should write down the words and report the result to the teacher.
[Purpose]:A special dictation at the beginning of the class makes the students interested in the class and remember the spelling and pronunciation of some key words by cooperation. It helps to solve the problem for the future exercises(listening,speaking,reading and writing). The Class optimization master software allows me to give the winner medal to encourage them to engage in the class.

Step2. Listening and speaking
T: Play the video and show two questions first.

[Purpose]:The students should know the questions before they watch the video. They get the sentences about asking the way by watching the video and answering the questions. It helps them get the skill of getting specific information from listening material and get key structures in this lesson by themselves.

b. T: Read the key sentences about asking the way. Put them up on the blackboard and form a mind map.
S: Read the sentences about asking the way after teacher.
[Purpose]: It can correct their pronunciation, remember the key sentences and lay a foundation for the future exercises.

c. T: Set a scene, the man is lost and help him ask and show the way with the map.
S: Observe the map and ask the way with the structures that is given by the teacher and try to use the easiest words to show the way with some preposition.
[Purpose]: Just now they have got the key sentences by themselves, this time they should know how to use them. It allows students to complete the construction of knowledge in a pleasant scene set by the game, reflects the philosophy of constructivism which emphasize learner-centered.

d. T: Play the micro lesson and show the questions first.

[Purpose]: In the micro lesson, I summarized how to show the way. They can write down the key points in the video while they are listening and watching it. They not only summarize the useful sentences but also practice listening skills.

e. T: Play the flash about the car in the map and ask them to find the missing building with the instruction.
S: Read the instruction and try to help the car find the destination.
[Purpose]: It allows students to understand and follow the instruction to find the missing building by the game, it is easier and more interesting to help students master how to use some preposition to show and follow the way.

f. T: Set a scene. The man is lost again. And ask the students to help him ask and show the way in pairs with the map.
S: Work in pairs. One student asks the way and the other student uses the pen to draw the route on the map. And then they exchange the roles.
[Purpose]: The real situation can make students interested in talking about it. They can learn something by discussing in pairs. Easi Note software can make them interact with each other. It makes the lesson lively and efficiency.

Step3. Reading
T: Ask students to move the preposition into the correct places and make the passage suitable with the map.
S: Observe the map and complete the passage with the preposition.
[Purpose]: After asking and showing the way by listening and speaking, they get further more exercises to use the knowledge.

b. T: Ask students to read the passage and follow the way and label the places on the map.
S: Read the information and label the places on the map. One student move the places on the screen.
[Purpose]: By the end of this lesson, students have got the skills of asking and giving the way, now they need to follow the way with the instruction from the reading material.

Step4. Production
T: Encourage students to design different situation and show themselves. Present the rules and invite them to show themselves in groups.

Step5. Writing
T: Set a real situation. There is a good news because their foreign friends are going to visit their school. They should write a letter to show the way in the school. The teacher has shown the beginning of the letter and the key phrases with mind map.

[Purpose]: Except listening,speaking and reading exercises, now they need try to practice using the knowledge they learned by writing. It can help them to solve the real problem in daily life and it also has a close connection with senior high school entrance examination.

b. T: After finishing writing, choose someone’s writing to take photos and show it to others on the screen. Finally, the teacher summarizes their writings.
S: The writers read their writings and one of the group members should correct the mistakes in the writings.
[Purpose]: They read and correct the writing together in order to improve themselves together. They can spread their ideas by reading, listening and correcting classmates’ writings.

Step6. Summary
T: Ask students what they have learned in class and summarize for them. Congratulations to them to climb to the top and reach the sun.(The blackboard design shows the sun, ladder and show the process of achieving their goal.)

Step7. Homework
T: Show two kinds of homework for different level’s students.
Students must recite the phrases and sentences about asking and showing the way, tomorrow there will be a dictation.
Students can write an email to a friend and say what to do on a one-day tour of hometown.
S: Choose homework to do. All of the students must finish the first one, the second one students can choose to do.
[Purpose]: Different level’s homework can build confidence to speak and use English for most students and also make the better students get improved. They can form a good foundation about the basic language points by reciting them. Telling them that there will be a dictation in order to supervise them to finish it carefully. Writing an email can improve some students to cultivate the ability of solving the problems in real life.
