名词所有格用以表示名词之间的所有关系。主要有of和’s(')两种表示方式。
1.用of所有格构成短语可以表示所有名词之间的所有关系。表示多数无生命的事物的名词之间使用of进行连接。
例:the window of the house 房子上的窗户
2.表示有生命的事物的名词及某些表示时间、距离、星球、世界、国家等无生命的东西的名词后加 ’s来表示所有关系。但如果该名词是以-s或-es结尾,则只在该名词后加 ’ 来构成所有格。
例: my father's car 我父亲的车;Bob’sfather 鲍勃的的爸爸
例:20 minutes' walk 20分钟的步行路程

1) 直接加s 如:give—gives, ask—asks, take—takes,
2) s, x, sh, ch, o结尾的, 加es
如: watch—watches, wash—washes, go —goes
3)以辅音字母+y结尾的,要把y变成i再加es

4)特殊变化 如: have—has
