Analysis of material 本板块旨在激发学生对人生意义的初步思考，为接下来的单元学习做好铺垫。活动1 呈现了一段与本单元主题相关的视频。视频将“空罐子”比作“人生”，将大石块、鹅卵石、沙子、茶水分别比作人生中要经历的事，并对其重要性展开了排序和论述。这一视频引导学生如何分清人生的主次，从而把更多时间留给那些真正重要的事情。活动2 是让学生观察具有隐喻效果的六幅插图，思考它们与人生的关联并给出理由。最后，做好基础语言知识的积累有益于学生的输入与输出。
Teaching Focus Key points Students can understand the video, and understand the humanistic feelings and simple feelings expressed by the author through the setting. Students are able to use the words and expressions correctly.
Difficult points Students can feel and understand the humanistic feelings conveyed by the video clip, and think about the profound connotation of "life lessons".
Learning objectives By the end of this period, students are expected to 1. deepen their understanding of life lessons by watching a video clip, and cultivate students to capture the main idea of it -- how to plan your life with matters you care about; 2. understand the meaning of topic words and practice their usage in use.

9 minutes Starting out： Learning objectives watch the story of a jar think about six items that stand for different things in life. Trigger students’ interests about this unit and think about what they learn from this video. PPT, a video clip
20 minutes Words study: learn derivatives of this unit figure out the words with different meanings in sentences learn six key words and phrases: burst out, far from, anticipate, appreciate, possession and recommend Students are able to use the words and expressions correctly. PPT
7 minutes following up exercise: grammar fill-in linking to Gaokao a micro-writing Practise new words and expressions in use. PPT
3 minutes Summary: review the words and expressions we learnt today encourage students to design a word map by topics to serve their writing and memorising reflection of this lesson assign homework Review words and expressions we learnt today and reflect their performance. PPT
