What's this in English
一、单元教材分析
本单元要求学生掌握英文字母Ii—Rr,能认读其印刷体和手写体字母的大小写等四种形式。书写(大写和小写,笔顺,笔画)基本合乎要求。注意总结元音字母a 、e、i和o的发音规则。本单元围绕“认物”这一话题开展听、说、读、的学习活动,学习一些简单的事物的英文词汇,并能用所学的句型去熟悉周围的一些事物的名称。让学生们学会在生活中如何确认事物。通过辨认事物,学生们学习一些词汇,并巩固所学的句型。
二、单元学情分析
本单元围绕“认物”这一话题开展听、说、读、写的学习活动。通过所学的句型— What's this in English — It's a…— What's that in English — It's a… ”去熟悉周围的一些事物的名称。此外,通过学习让学生们明白this和that均指代单数的事物,this指代离说话者较近的事物,that指代离说话者较远的事物,it指代上文出现的事物,也可指代上文出现的this或that。用英语确认周围常见事物比较适合初学者的实际情况,难度不大,易调动学生们的学习兴趣。
三、单元教学建议
在本单元的教学中可采用的学习策略有:兴趣活动教学策略,多采用做游戏和猜谜等形式;任务型教学策略,在教学中应突出语言的应用性原则,把听说、讨论、表演、游戏贯穿于教学,使课堂形式多样化,充分发挥学生的主动性。采用自主学习、小组合作学习、Role playing、 pair work等方法开展听、说、读、写的学习活动。
四、单元课时分配
本单元可用2课时完成教学任务:

一、教学目标:
1. 语言知识目标:
1) 能掌握以下词汇:字母Ii ~ Rr, what, is, what's, this, in, English, in English, that, map, cup, ruler, pen, orange, jacket, key, quilt, it, a(n)
2) 能掌握以下句型:
① — What's this in English — It's an orange.
② — What's that in English — It's a map
3) 能运用所学的句型询问确认周围的事物,并学会事物的英语名称。
4)能掌握字母Ii ~ Rr的字母顺序,读音及书写。
5)总结元音字母a、e、i、o在单词中的读音规则。

在认识事物的学习活动中培养学生的想象力和创造力;激发学生学习英语的兴趣,发挥学生学习英语的主动性;通过小组活动 、组间竞赛,培养学生的合作意识和团队精神。

三、教学过程
1.. Warming-up and revision
1). Greet the Ss.
— Good morning/afternoon/evening, class!
— Good morning/afternoon/evening, Mr./ Ms. …
T: How are you

2). Watch a video(revise 打招呼的句子和上节课字母)
2. Pre-listening
1). Look at the picture in 1a, look for the small letters. Check the ones you find.
2) . Look and learn. (pass the card, what’s missing, boom…)
3. Learn the new words.
1). Listen and repeat 1b. (注意连读和重读,以及a/an 的用法。)
2). Listen a song and find the differences between ‘this’ and ‘that’.
3). Practice : practice the sentence structure: What’s this/ that in English It’s a/an..
Eg: A: What’s this in English
B: It’s an orange.
A: What’s that in English
B: It’s a jacket.
4. While-listening
1). Let Ss recite Aa ~ Hh first.

5). Now let's work on 2b. Listen and number the letters you hear [1-10].

5. Post-listening (Writing)
1). T: Now let's learn how to write these letters. First look at the picture carefully in 2c. Then tell us how to write these English letters.
2). Ss read and find out the writing rules of the letters Ii ~ Rr.
S1: 大字字母都是占上两格。
S2: 字母m、n、o、r占中间的一格。
S3:字母k、l占上两格。
S4: 字母p、q占下两格。
S5: 字母j占三格。
3. Ss try to copy the letters by themselves. T goes around the classroom to give any help.
6. Practice
1). Tell Ss to look at the picture in 2d. First, read the letters aloud. Then let some Ss read the letters to the class aloud.
2). Let Ss try to write down the missing letters. Check the answers with your partner.
3). Let some Ss come the Bb and write missing letters on the Bb.
(注意看学生们的字母笔顺是否正确,纠正不正确的笔顺,并让其他学生引起注意。)
7. Read and Talk
1). Let Ss look at the pictures in 2e. Let some Ss read the letters below each picture.
2). Let some Ss talk about the meaning of each picture.

8. Language points
Let’s Ss learn and remember them.
1). this 是指示代词,意为“这;这个”,指近处或距说话人近的人或事物。
that 意为“那;那个”,指远处或距说话人远的人或事物。例如:
2). 冠词a 与an 的用法
冠词a和an是虚词,只用在单数可数名词前,表示“一”。通常放在单数可数名词前。a 用在以辅音音素开头的单数可数名词前,如a pen。
an用在以元音音素开头的单数可数名词前,如an apple (/ /为元音) 。
口诀:
冠词 a, an 两种帽,单数名词常需要;
辅音单数 a 提前,元音单数 an 优先。
3). What’s this in English
这个用英语怎么说?
句型用来询问某物,回答时要用“It is/ It’s a(n) + 名词”,其中 it 用来指代 this 或that。 其同义句为:What’s the English for this / that
what’s = what is, 意为“是什么”。
用来提问的特殊疑问句总是放在句子的开头。
in English 意为“用英语 ”,其中in是介词,表示“用语言、声音、方式等”。

一、教学目标:

1) 运用 — What's this/that — It's… 句型对周围的事物进行问答练习。
2) 运用Spell it, please句型,练习拼写所学的有关事物的单词,并强化记忆这些单词。
3)总结归纳元音字母Aa、Ee、Ii与Oo在单词中的常见发音规律,并能利用所学的规律来尝试拼读新的单词。

三、教学过程
1 Warming- up and revision
1) Greet the Ss.
2) Review the letters Ii ~ Rr.
3) Ss read these words loundly.(orange, ruler, pen, key, jacket, cup)
Ask Ss to answer the questions:
T: What's this in English
Ss: It's an orange.
T: What's this in English
Ss: It's a ruler.
(Ask about more Ss about other things.)
Pre-listening
Show Ss the map on the wall and ask: What’s this in English
Ss: It's a map.
Point to a picture of quilt. Ask Ss: What's that in English
Ss: It's a quilt.
(Put the real objects on a desk which is a little far away.)
Then ask questions about them.
2)Let Ss talk about the objects in pairs.
3.While-listening
1) 让学生们看3a中的八幅图画,读出每幅图画的英语名称。
2) 3a. Listen to the recording and number the pictures.(For the first time, only listen. For the second time, listen and number the pictures. For the third time, let's check the answers.)
3) 3b. Now let's listen to the recording again. And complete the words under the pictures in 3a. (Play the tapes three times. For the first and the second time, Ss listen and write letters to complete the words. For the third time, check the answers with the whole class. )
4)Practice
Listen to the conversations in 3c and practice.
Let some Ss act out the conversation.(3c)
5)Listen and number. (3d) (Play the recording three times. For the first time, only listen. For the second time, listen and number the words. For the third time, check the answers.)
6)Pair work
3e: What can you see in the room
Who can act out the conversation in the picture
Work with your paetner ask and anwer the objects in Helen's room.
(Ss ask and answer about the objects in Helen's room.)
4.Post-listening (Writing)
1) Let's recite all the letters we learned from Aa to Rr.
(Ss try to recite it by themselves first. Then let some Ss recite the words in front of the class.)
2) Finish 4a.
3) Ss write the missing letters. Then check the answers with his/her partner.
4)Let's work on 4b now. First let's read the words in the box. Then, let some Ss read the words in the box aloud.
5) Now let's number all the words in alphabetical order. (让学生们解释一下什么是“字母表顺序”)
6) Ss number all the words in alphabetical order then let some Ss read their numbers to check the answers.
5.Listen and repeat
1) Let's work on 4c.
(告诉学生们这是有关元音字母a、e、i和o在单词中读音规则的总结,同学们认真听,看能否听清左右两个方框中发音的不同。)

3) Let some Ss try to read the words. Correct their pronunciation.
7.Language Points
1) Spell it, please. 请拼写一下吧。
这是一个用来考查别人拼写(读)能力的句式。用于别人提到的单词,自己不知如何拼写。让对方指出这个单词由哪几个字母组成。
2) please 意为“请”,常用于一些客套的场合,可放在句首,也可以放在句末。放在句末时,常用逗号与前面部分隔开。例如:
Please stand up.
= Stand up, please. 请起立。
3)am, is, are是连系动词be的三种形式,都意为“是”。观察例句,补全结论。
I am Dale. 我是戴尔。
He / She / Mike is a student. 他 / 她 / 迈克是一名学生。
It / This / That is my ruler. 它 / 这 / 那是我的尺子。
4)Ii ~ Rr的书写及发音。
在书写英语字母时,每个字母都应向
右倾斜,约为5°。且大写字母都占上中格,可顶第一线。具体书写及笔顺如下:
字母Ii ~ Rr的读音依次为:
其中Ii 和Oo是元音字母,其余均为辅音字母。
(1) 元音字母Ii, 在“I + 辅音字母(r除外) + 不发音的e”这一重读开音节中,读字母本身的读音 ,如:bike, nice等。
元音字母Ii, 在“i + 一个或几个辅音字母(r除外)”这一闭音节中,通常读短音 ,例如:this, six等。
(2) 元音字母Oo 在重读开音节中读字母本身的读音 , 如:no, hello等。 元音字母Oo在闭音节中读短音 , 例如:not, box等。
