Step 1: warming-up
Ask the students to read the words and phrases themselves ,then listen the tape to correct the pronunciation .
Step 2:New class
Pre-read unit 1 and then do the following questions.
Translate the following expressions into English or Chinese:

Step 3:Thinking:
1.I’d like to join the Music Club because I can play the piano. (英译汉)
2.“can”是情态动词,在这里,他的意思是“能/会...”。
3.can没有人称和数的变化,否定式都用。
Step 4: listen and read the passage
Ask the students to read the passage with some questions by themselves . Then listen the tape to correct the pronunciation. Last check the answers in whole classmates.
Show some easy questions on ppt. Play the tape of Activity3.
Step 5:Reading and action
Students read the dialogue loudly first, then try to act it out in three. First in their groups, then before class.
Practice:Daming(会) ride a horse. He(不会) swim. He(会) speak Chinese. They(不会) speak English. She(不会)(弹吉他).

Step 2:Presention
Listen and read the passage .Ask the students to read the passage with some questions by themselves .

Finaly check the answers in whole classmates.
