1. What does your friend look like 你朋友长什么样？
What does/do+主语+look like ……看上去什么样
look like 表示“看起来像……”, 该句型意为“……长什么样？”，用于询问某人的外貌。常用“主语+be+描述人物外貌特征的形容词.”或“主语+have/has+一个或多个形容词+名词.”回答。
—What does your sister look like 你姐姐长什么样？
—She is very tall. She has short curly hair. 她很高，留着短短 的卷发。
【拓展延伸】“What + be +主语 +like ”意为“……是什么样的人？”，be like则是指“品德，相貌”等。多用于询问某人的性格或品质。答语中的形容词通常是用来修饰人的性格或品质的词，常见的有：friendly(友好的)，strict(严格的)，nice/kind(友善的)，shy(害羞的)，quiet(文静的)等。
—What is your best friend like 你好朋友是什么样的人？
—She is quite shy. 很腼腆。
2. Yeah, but I may be a little late. 对，但是我可能会晚一点儿。
may modal v. 也许；可能；可以
may是情态动词，后接动词原形。
（1）may在本句中表示推测，意为“也许；可能”。

—I’m not sure. He may be in the library. 我不确定。他可能在图书馆。
（2）may还可以表示允许或征求对方许可，意为“可以”。
—May I come in, sir 先生，我可以进来吗？

【易混辨析】may be与 maybe
may be may是情态动词， be是动词原形，两者构成完整的谓语形式，意为“也许是；可能是”。
maybe 是副词，意为“也许；可能”，在句中作状语，常位于句首。
I can’t find my book in the schoolbag. It may be in my drawer. 我在书包里没有找到我的书，它可能在我的抽屉里。
Maybe she will come this afternoon. 她可能今天下午来。
a little 一点；少量
（1）a little 在此处作状语，意为“一点”，可修饰形容词或副词，表示程度，与a bit同义。
It’s a little hot today. 今天有点儿热。
The question is a little difficult. 这个问题有点难。
（2）a little还可作定语，意为“一点；少量”，修饰不可数名词。
He drinks a little milk every day. 他每天喝一点牛奶。
3. She’s of medium height, and she has long straight hair.
她中等个子，留着长长的直发。
此句是用来描述外貌的常用句型。
表示某人中等个头或中等身材时的结构为:
sb. + be + of + medium height / build
表示人的相貌特征，尤其是五官、头发时。
常用结构:sb.+have/has +（a/an）+（形容词）+名词
某人长着/留着……
例：这个男人中等身材。 The man is of medium build.

4. Are you going to the movie tonight 今晚你去看电影吗？
用谓语动词的现在进行时表将来。
主要用于表示按计划或安排将要发生的动作如：
come, go, arrive, leave, start, return等。
5. Is he tall or short 他个高还是矮？
这是一个选择疑问句。其句型结构为“be动词+名词 + or + 名词（与前一名词是对等成分）”。
选择疑问句是指说话人提出两种或两种以上的情况,问对方选择哪一种，最后两个选择项用or连接。不能用yes或no回答。
如：--- Is the baby boy or girl 这个宝宝是男孩还是女孩？
--- It is a girl. 她是女孩。
选择疑问句的常见结构:
