as作介词时，意为“作为；当作”，其后多接表示职业、职务、用途、作用之类的名词来构成介词短语，在句中常作状语。当这种由as构成的介词短语置于句首时，后面常用逗号与句子的主体隔开。如：
I work as an English teacher in a middle school. 我在一所中学做英语老师。

stay的用法
stay作动词时，意为“停留;逗留”，常用短语有: stay up late熬夜， stay out待在外面；stay作连系动词时，意为“保持;继续”，与keep意思相近， 后接形容词作表语,构成系表结构。如：
His cousin stayed at home and did homework yesterday afternoon. 他的表弟昨天下午待在家里做作业。
You must exercise to stay healthy. 你必须锻炼以保持健康。
