Step 1 Revision (about 8 minutes)
1. T: There are many clubs at our school, what club do you want to join? Now ask and answer with your partner.
Get students to ask and answer:

2. Do 1c: Ask and answer questions about the instruments of 1a.
Step 2 New words learning (about 8 minutes.)
1. Let students learn the words by themselves in groups. Let them use the information that they have.
2. When students learn the words, the teacher gives them some help.
Step 3 Listening and practice (about 12 minutes)
1. Do 1a: Draw lines to match the words with the pictures.
2. Do 1b: Listen and number the words in the order you hear.
3. Do 1d: Listen and circle the words and phrases you hear.
4. Do 1e: Listen and fill in the chart with the words in 1d.

Step 4 Activities: Club interviewing. (about 8 minutes)
1. T: In west countries, many students often take part in activities to help others after class or on weekends. Read the three descriptions about Peter, Alan and Ma Huan and underline what they can do.
2. After they finish reading and underlining the texts, ask students to read the ads of 2b. Firstly they must match the titles with the ads, then choose the right person in 2a for 2b, and then finish 2c.
3. Pay attention to the phrase: be good with, make friends, help…with, call…at…

Step 1 Leading in (about 9 minutes)
1. Enjoy a section of video.
T: Who are they? Can they play the guitar/drums/…? What do we call them? (Rock band)
2. The rock band will join the music festival. (Show a picture of a music festival.)
T: What is it? Look! Some people sing and dance.
Get students to say: They are musicians.
T: What can we see in the festival?
Students answers.
T: Yes, singing show, dancing show. Anything else? Also kung fu show.
Step 2 3a (about 9 minutes)
T: Our School Music Festival wants musicians. Complete the ad with the words in the box. Then answer me some questions. “How can you be in our school music festival?” “What can you do if you want to join the School Music Festival?”
Let the students have a discussion in groups: How to write a poster? After finishing discussing, ask them to complete the ad with the words in the box. Then correct the answers.
Step 3 Group—work 3b (about 9 minutes)
T: From 3a, we have learnt how to write a poster, now it’s your time to show yourself, make a poster for our school’s talent show. Imagine when and where the show will be held and what you can do for the show and find out who can show in the show.
Let students talk about it and make a list of shows, then make a report to the others.
Step 4 Self Check (about 9 minutes)
1. Let students to add more words and phrases in each box, then check the answers.
2. Let students to add as many words as they can to make phrases.
3. Let students to write a passage about their abilities and their friends.
After they finish this part, let them say out their sentences and articles and find the best one.
