　Lesson 9　Danny's School Project
●教学重点：
1.掌握词汇:describe, build, ago, army, clay, soldier, important, tool, desert, more, realize, a long time ago, try one’s best, look like, well done, a little bit, make…from….
2.能正确运用一般过去时和一般现在时来描述某一名胜古迹和动物。
●教学难点：
1.熟练、正确的将动词的一般过去时转化为动词原形，并熟练掌握动词的不规则变化。
2.用英语确切的描述某一事物，让他人能准确猜到。
教学目标：
●语言知识：
　 (1)学习和掌握本节课重点词汇。
(2)熟练掌握动词原形和一般过去式的互换。
(3)掌握如何用一般过去时准确地介绍动物和名胜古迹，并能让其他人猜出。
●语言技能：
通过本课的学习培养学生综合运用语言的能力，有效提高学生听说读写的能力，令其掌握熟练自如地介绍某一事物的技能。
●情感态度：
通过本课的学习，让学生更加了解祖国的动物资源和名胜古迹，增加学生的民族自豪感，培养他们的爱国主义精神。
教学过程
环节1　新课导入
T：Boys and girls.In the last lesson, we learned about Jenny's school project.What is it about
S1：It is about Marco Polo and the Silk Road.
T：Well done! Does anyone know what Danny's school project is
S2：It is about some places of interest in China.
T：Wonderful! Today we'll see what Danny will present to us about his project.
设计意图：通过师生之间的对话，回顾了上一课时的所学内容，并自然地引出本课时的主题，为接下来的学习做好铺垫。

1．教师让学生快速读出ppt所展示单词，并邀请学生拼读单词。
2．教师让学生仔细听对话，Danny is talking about his school project with his classmates. Listen to the dialogues and then tell what Danny described

一般过去时
①一般过去时的句子构成
肯定句：a.主语＋谓语(动词过去式)＋其他．b.主语＋was/were＋其他．如：She often came to help us last year.去年她时常来帮助我们。
否定句：a.主语＋was/were＋not＋其他．b.主语＋didn't＋谓语(动词原形)＋其他．如：I didn't know you like coffee.我之前不知道你喜欢咖啡。
一般疑问句：a.Did＋主语＋谓语(动词原形)＋其他？b.Was/Were＋主语＋其他？如：Did you finish your homework？你的作业做完了吗？
②一般过去时的用法
a．一般过去时既可表示在过去某个特定的时间发生的动作，也可表示过去习惯性、经常性的动作。一般不强调动作的影响，只说明事情。
b．一般过去时常与表示过去的时间状语或从句连用，如yesterday、last week、in the past、in 1993、at that time、once、during the war、before、a few days ago、when等。
4．Role-play
Pair work: role play the dialogues in pairs. Then present your role-play in front of the class. 5．让学生观察下列动词及其过去式，说一说变化

4.stop—stopped；plan—planned

（教师讲解一般过去时的用法及动词过去式的变化规则，然后让学生独立完成活动3的练习，教师最后订正答案。）
动词过去式的变化规则
规则动词的变化：
a．一般情况下直接在词尾加 ed，如：work—worked；look—looked。
b．以不发音的字母e结尾的动词，直接加 d，如：live—lived；hope—hoped；use—used。
c．以“辅音字母＋y”结尾的动词，变y为i，再加 ed，如：study—studied；carry—carried；worry—worried。
d．以重读闭音节结尾的词，双写最后的辅音字母再加 ed，如：stop—stopped；plan—planned。
不规则动词的过去式，需要特别记忆，如：have—had；go—went；drink—drank；eat—ate；bring—brought；think—thought；buy—bought；catch—caught；teach—taught；sit—sat；cut—cut；sweep—swept；sleep—slept；become—became等。

Play Act and Guess. One student tries to describe something and the others try to guess what it is. Take turns guessing and describing.

Danny:It’s big and tall. It’s an important tool on the Silk Road.
Greg: Is it a horse
Danny: Sorry! It lives in the desert.
Greg: Oh, it’s a camel!
Danny: Well done. Look at this picture. I’m riding a camel.
(教师说明活动4的游戏方法，然后让一名学生描述一件事物，其他学生猜这名学生描述的是什么，最后让猜中的学生上台描述，这样以此类推。期间教师可提供帮助和指导。)
设计意图：通过听描述猜事物的游戏，鼓励学生大胆开口，培养他们说英语的信心。此外，教师精讲本单元语法意在帮助学生巩固本课时的语法知识。
