There are 400 students in my school.
I'm in Grade 7.
We often make many different things in shop class.
Once, we made a bird house from wood.
Sometimes we work in groups.
We usually play songs as a class.
But sometimes we play on our own.
I want to take part in the fair with my project on silk worm.

1.Warming up
Show some pictures of Chinese students’ school life. PPT
They are having different classes or activities.(To know Chinese students' school life.)
Show a picture of Jenny’s school life. Let’s know her school life.
2.Pre-reading
Show new words. Lead students to learn these new words. PPT

Read the lesson and answer the questions.

Talk about Jenny's favourite class, and what does Jenny do in that class
Then work in pairs, talk about what's your favourite subject What do you do in that class .(Exercise 4 in "Let's Do It!")

A few minutes later ,ask a few pairs to present.
5.Summary and homework
Together with the students to make a summary. Ask students to write a letter:
If you have a pen pal in Canada,tell him or her something about your school life.
For example:
My school life is very _____ .I have______ classes every day. They are ______ .My favourite subject is _______.We often/usually/never/ _________in that class.
I hope you can enjoy your colourful school life.

Teaching Reflection:
In my opinion,our lesson is successful. My reasons are as follows:
Firstly,the teaching aims were quite clear. All the activities were focused on the theme:“ School Life”, and were developed to reach the teaching goal. And all these were designed according to the students' real life.
Secondly, task-based teaching method was successfully adopted. Actually,all the activities arranged in the lesson were tasks for the students to perform, and this led students to have sufficient practice. In order to fulfill the final task, the students should use their target language.
Thirdly,in this lesson the teacher designed different activities to arouse the students' interests of learning English.Such as :pair work, group work, discussion, practice, and so on. So students were eager to speak and use English in class. For example, the interview not only stimulated the students,but also made the students use the target language willingly.
Fourthly, I tried hard to create real life situation to help the students to learn, to practise, and to communicate. In this special way, the students became more interested and more active in thinking and speaking. I created relax, happy and friendly atmosphere to help them get information in a new learning style, that is, to learn independently, to learn actively, and to research together. Also, the students learned to cooperate with each other in group work.
