Step 1Warm-up Greet the class.Have the Ss watch a short video about dance music Watch the video , try to relax and enjoy themselves. Warm the class.Arouse the students’ attention. Show a slide of the topic of this unit on the screen. Play a video.
Step 2Presentation Present different kinds of music. Try to know this kind of music Raise the Ss’ learning interest and lead in the new lesson. Some pictures are shown on the screen.
Step 3Gussing Play different kinds of music to students.Show the key sentences to Ss. Listen to the music and guess what kinds of music they are. Learn the key sentences. Train the Ss’ ability of speaking. Again show some pictures and some pieces of music.
Step 4Circling 1a. Ask Ss to read the sentences. Then have the Ss circle the sentences they agree with. Look at the sentences and circle them. Then read the sentences after the tape. Provide reading practice using the target language. The picture in 1a is shown on the screen.
Step 5Listening 1b. Play the recording. Check the answers with the Ss. Listen to the tape and do the exercise. Provide listening practice using the target language. Play the recording using multimedia.
Step 6Practice 1c. Have the Ss practice the statements and the responses. Ask some pairs to perform their conversations. Make conversations using the sentences. Provide guided speaking practice. Show a slide of the sentences on the screen.
Step 7Explanation Explain the Grammar( Attributive Clause) Learn the grammar and do some exercise to practice the grammar Get the Ss to master the key structure. Show a slide of the sentences on the screen.
Step 8Groupwork Let the students make a survey about the teachers they like and then make a report Do a survey and give a report. Get the Ss to master the key structure further. Show some slides on the screen.
Step 9Summary and homework Give the students a summary of the lesson. Then assign some homework, ask students to finish the homework carefully. Listen to the teacher and read the target language.Finish the homework after class carefully. Let the students consolidate the new knowledge. Show the target language on the screen.
