一、教学目标
1. New words and phrases: British bathroom spell pronunciation grammar,translate,American,Australian,pronounce ,ring up ,go up ,in different ways
2. Make the Ss know about the differences between American English and British English .
3. The students can describe the differences between American English and British English .
二、学情分析
本节课课题为《Unit 7 Lesson 39 Ring up or call 》,是第七单元的第三课。第七单元的核心话题是“ Geography and language”,三十九课是以为“英式英语和美式英语”为话题展开的。第七单元的语法是现在完成时时态(Present Perfect Tense )和被动语态(Passive Voice)。这一课主要以“任务型教学法”为主要教学方法。任务型教学就是把课堂活动任务化,以任务为核心,计划教学步骤,让学生在完成任务的过程中,使用英语获取信息,进行交流。让学生在教师的指导下,通过感知、体验、实践参与和合 作等形式,逐步达到教学目标规定的要求。使学生能够运用英本课围绕语解决真实生活中所存在的问题,从而达到“为用而学、用中学、学中用”的目的。本课围绕Ring up or call这一主题,为学生设计了下列任务:
1. What are the similarities of Ring up and call
2. Find out the words that have the meaning in the
dialogue and Part Two of Let`s do it .
3. What are the differences between Ring up and call?
4. What are the differences between British English and American English?
通过完成上述四项任务,学生掌握了本课语言知识目标,在学习的过程中获得情感体验,应用一定的学习策略,形成积极的学习态度,学生在参与精心设计的任务型学习活动中认识语言,运用语言,发现问题,找出规律,归纳知识促进了学生语言实际运用能力的提高。
三、重点难点
1.The importance :
We say “in a team ”while you say “on a team ”
You spell color “c-o-l-o-u-r”
It is a friendly way of saying “Do you understand ”
2.Difficult points:
We have been asked to write a report on Asia.
There are quite a few differences between your English and my English .
Sometimes we describe the same thing in different ways or use different words.
There are also some differences in pronunciation and even in grammar .

Homework
British and American English :create your own dictionary and phrase book that has:
1. five words in English that have different British and Americanspelling .(colour-color,center-centre,favorite- favourite,metre-meter,kilogramme- kilogram, theatre – theater,honour-honor,realise- realize,
travelling-traveling,neighbour- neighbor, practice-practise and so on)
2. five words in English that have different British and American pronunciation.
(value-[va-lue]/[val-ue]),vacation[ve ke n] /[v ke n]),,(shall[ l]/[ l] ),,(neither [ na ] / [ ni ] ,(can’t[kAnt]/ [ka:nt]), ( either [ a ]/[ i ] and so on .
3. five phrases ,expressions or terms in English that have the same meaning but use different grammar in British and American.( in a team-on a team,at the weekend-on the weekend, on the train/in the train,go to university- go to the university)( He has just gone home. / He just went home. (他刚回家了。) I have just had lunch. /I just have lunch. (我刚吃完午餐。) Tom needn’t go with them. /Tom doesn’t need to go with them.
You must also include the Chinese translation for every word ,phrase ,term or expression .
课后反思:本课在课堂上可以让学生介绍自己知道的英国英语和美国英语的区别。此时,教师要对学生进行有针对性的指导,指导他们如何说出要点,如何使用正确的词汇和句式进行表达,此外,在做对话练习时,教师要及时纠正学生所出现的错误。
