I. Teaching aims:
1. Knowledge aims:
(1)能够听、说、认读单词 shadow,lower,smarter,become,并能在语境中运用。
(2)联系上下文理解:It is getting lower and lower, but his shadow is getting longer and longer.
(3)能够读懂理解整个故事大意,获取相关信息,能够完成课后思考和讨论题。
2. Ability aims:
(1)能够运用学过的形容词比较级描述人物的变化。
(2)能够在文中捕捉不同类型的信息,通过简单的推理提炼文段的主旨大意。
(3)能够根据阅读获取的信息完成活动。
3. Emotion aims:
在日常生活中,要勇于提出问题,善于观察,善于思考。
II. Teaching key points:
(1)能够理解故事大意。
(2)能够运用学过的形容词比较级描述人物的变化。
III. Teaching difficult points:
(1)能理解影子变化的真正原因。
(2)能够在文中捕捉不同类型的信息,通过简单的推理提炼文段的主旨大意。
IV. Teaching methods:
Situational teaching method, communicative approach, task-based language teaching, co-operative learning approach, play method.
V. Preparations:手电筒、玩具树、玩具鸭子、单词卡片、多媒体 PPT、作业纸等。
VI. Teaching steps:
Step 1. Warm-up
1.用自制教具演示影子,教学单词:shadow First, let’s play a magic game. Do you have sharp eyes Can you make your eyes bigger Wow! Your eyes are all very big. Look. What’s this (Show a toy tree.) Can you see the tree on the Bb (shadow) Is it really a tree (No.) It’s the shadow of the tree. (Teach: shadow)
2.通过演示透明词卡影子的变化,出示句型:It is getting ... .同时感知短语 longer and longer/ shorter and shorter等。
Look. Can you see the shadow of the word shadow Pay attention to the change. Look! It is getting bigger and bigger/smaller and smaller. Now look, what’s this Yes, it’s a little duck. It’s cute. Can you see the shadow of the duck Is it long or short Pay
3. Read and underline the answers:

4. 细读第一段 Teach: lower
T: What's Little Duck watching
S1: He’s watching the sun go down. (找生读)
T: So when is it Is it in the morning or in the afternoon (afternoon) Yes, it’s in the afternoon. Because in the afternoon the sun goes down.
T: Look. In the afternoon, the sun is getting lower and
lower.How about the shadow Watch and answer. (The shadow is getting longer and longer.)

5. 细读第二段 Teach: smarter
T: What question does Little Duck ask
S1: Why is my shadow longer when the sun gets lower
T: Can you read like Little Duck Why does Little Duck ask his friend Old Tree
Ss: Because Old tree is older and smarter.
T: Yes, you are so smart. Smart means clever.
【设计意图】在学习的过程中适当进行表演,可以提高学生的参与性,让学生更好地理解故事,培养阅读兴趣,更好的掌握新授内容。6 细读第三段 Teach:become
T: What's Old Tree's answer
S1: Your shadow grows longer because you are growing taller.
T: Let’s watch and understand Old Tree’s answer.Pay attention to Old Tree’s last word: You are becoming....
Become means.... Teach: become
T: Can you read like Old Tree (Act Old Tree.)T: Boys and girls, the sun goes down every day, and we grow older every day. Look, what’s this (a tree/duck)
【设计意图】细读第三段,让学生看视频理解 Old Tree的回答。学习 become,并在情境中学以致用,巩固单词和句型。
7. Watch and find out the right answer:

【设计意图】讨论 Old Tree回答的科学性,引导学生在日常生活中,要注意善于观察,善于思考,勇于提出问题并寻求正确答案。
8. Listen and imitate. Pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.【设计意图】跟读可以保证学生接触原汁原味的语言材料,保证他们语言输入的准确性。
Step 3. Consolidation & Extension
1. Read and fill in the blanks

这堂课实现了教学设计中对各个教学环节的设想:影子变化的现场演示、小鸭子的故事、对故事角色的语音模仿与表演等教学活动都很好的激发了学生的学习兴趣。操练和拓展练习活动的填空,培养了学生的整体阅读策略和自主学习能力。学生填空正确、起立表达正确带来的学习愉悦感、成就感,会帮助他们更加热爱英语学习。学生已掌握本课重点句型 It is getting lower and lower, but his shadow is getting longer and longer.等,在听说读写方面对重点词句都得到了提高。本课新词汇、新句子的难度都不大,最大的难度体现在影子形成的科学原理环节,此环节深入挖掘了教材内涵,讨论起来学生有不同意见和争议,非常有意思。但学生单词量较少,师生在交流上都受到了一定限制,经过充分的教学预设,大量的图片与教师的肢体语言起到了很好的辅助效果。本课在英语学科核心素养的教育理念指导下,打破常规的教学思路,尝试在语言能力、学习能力、思维品质和文化意识四个方面培养学生,是一次认真的教改实践。总体来说,本节课学生的学习兴趣浓厚,参与度较高,学生在学习过程中获取并内化信息,发展语言运用能力,获得良好体验。当然,人无完人,课无完课,一堂课下来中还是略有不足之处,整堂课,优秀的孩子得到了较多展示自己风采的机会,但部分不善于表达、接受能力较弱的孩子整堂课就不太能抓住表现的机会,个别学生没有能够跟上大家的节奏。总之,本课还有很多值得研讨和改进的地方,我会踏踏实实、尽自身的最大努力上好每堂课,我相信“宝剑锋从磨砺出,梅花香自苦寒来”,所以我还必须要更加努力,让自己在一次次磨砺中不断成长!
