Step1:过去分词的基本形式及其句法功能
1. 过去分词是一种非谓语动词,规则动词的过去分词的基本形式由“动词+ ________ ”构成;不规则动词的过去分词须逐个记忆。
过去分词在句中不能单独作谓语。但它具有形容词和副词的特性,故在句中可以作_________、_________、_________、__________。过去分词一般有被动和完成两大特征。及物动词的过去分词表示 ________ 或完成; 不及物动词的过去分词只表示________。
Step2: 过去分词作定语
1. 单个过去分词作定语一般位于被修饰词的前面
用作前置定语的过去分词通常来自及物动词,表被动和完成意义。试翻译:

不及物动词的过去分词只有完成意义。试翻译:

少数过去分词作定语也可以放在所修饰词语的后面

2. 过去分词短语作定语时, 放在所修饰的名词之后, 用作后置定语的过去分词通常也来自及物动词,表示被动意义和完成意义, 在意义上相当于一个定语从句。

这座工厂是去年由一家著名公司修建的。
②. The girl cut by a knife on her face yesterday is receiving a treatment.

过去分词短语有时亦可用作非限制性定语,前后常有逗号。

这本书是1957年写的,讲的是关于矿工斗争的故事。
3. 过去分词与现在分词,不定式作定语的区别
过去分词(done)表示已经完成的被动的动作;
现在分词(doing)表示正在进行的主动的动作,现在分词的被动形式(being done)表示正在进行的被动的动作;
不定式(to do)表示将要进行的主动的动作,不定式的被动形式(to be done)表示将要进行的被动的动作。

Step3:过去分词作表语
1. 过去分词作表语时,相当于形容词,说明主语动作的性质或状态,一般后面带有介词短语。

2. 过去分词与现在分词作表语的区别:
过去分词作表语,一般表被动或主语所处的状态,主语多为人,含有“感到。。。”的意思;
现在分词作表语,一般表主动或主语的性质和特征,主语多为物,含有“令人。。。”的意思。
常见的做定语的分词有:
exciting/excited, interesting/interested, disappointing/disappointed, encouraging/encouraged, puzzling/puzzled, surprising/surprised, confusing/confused, moving/moved, terrifying/terrified…
用正确形式填空:
