sb deserve to do /sth deserves doing值得做:应该做,其后可接名词、代词、动名词:接动名词时,要用主动形式表示被动意义,相当于后接不定式的被动形式。

【自填助记】以上5句中_____________含有限制性定语从句,__________中含有非限制性定语从句。限制性定语从句,顾名思义,是对先行词从本质或特征上__________一种定语从句,它所修饰的词代表一个(些)或一类_____人或事、物。例如 :
1. A man who doesn’t want to learn from others can’t achieve much.
一个不向别人学习的人不会取得很高成就。
2. I was the only person in our office who was invited.
我是办公室唯一受到邀请的人。
【知识小结】 限制性定语从句是不能去掉的,否则剩下的部分就失去意义或含糊不清。

【自填助记】
非限制性定语从句则不然,它只对______作进一步的说明,去掉之后______整个句子的含义。在形式上,非限制性定语从句与主句之间通常必须有逗号隔开。引导非限制性定语从句的which可以指代前面的先行词,也可以指代前面整个句子。例如:   
1. Finally we visited the Giant Yangtze Gorges Dam, which is the greatest key water control project in the world at present.   
最后我们参观了长江三峡大坝,它是目前世界上最大的水利枢纽工程。
2.Water ,which seems simple,make life possible.(Seem) 水,看似简单,却创造了生命。
3. The road conditions there turned to be very good, which is more than we could expect
路况变得非常好,这比我们想象中的好多了。
4. That Peter will marry Alice, which has not been announced yet, has spread around.
彼特要娶爱丽斯这件事还没宣布,却已被传得沸沸扬扬。
【知识小结】以上句中若去掉定语从句,主句部分的含义仍然完整。

As 也可引导非限制定语从句,指代主句中的一部分或,在从句中作主语、宾语、表语,一般情况下可以与________ 互换。

3. His lessons are interesting, as/which indeed they are. (引导词代替句中的表语,且在从句中作 )
4.He didn’t say a word ,which (不能用as)surprised us .(引导词代表前面整个主句并在从句中作主语且谓语动词非联系动词时只能用which)
【温馨提示】
下列情形下只能用as : (1) 放在句首时 (2)表示“正如,正像”之意时
(3)用于类似插入语的句式中:as is well known ;as often happens; as may be imagined; as we know; as we can see; as we expect, As is said above.
