【学习过程】(基础知识回顾)
一. 何为定语从句?
定语可以由形容词,代词,数词,名词,介词短语等来担任。如果一个句子担任定语,这个句子就叫__________。定语从句可以修饰名词或代词,还能修饰整个句子.定语从句所修饰的词叫作__________,而引导定语从句的词叫__________(关系代词和关系副词).关系词一般紧跟在先行词之后引导定语从句.译成汉语时,一般先翻译限制性定语从句,再翻译先行词.
限制性定语从句是主句中先行词不可缺少的组成部分,如果去掉,主句的意思往往不完整或不明确.书写时,先行词与定语从句之间__________逗号分隔.
二.如何使用关系词?
【观察思考】
The boys who/that had never come across anything like this before started jumping out of the windows.
Jo has included some photos which/that will help her friend picture the places she talks about.
The school is a bush one whose classrooms are made of bamboo.
My hometown is no longer the place that it used to be
There was a newly made platform where (= on which) Joe and Jenny would sleep.
【归纳总结】
作主语时,指人用关系代词______________;指物用关系代词______________.
作宾语时,指人用关系代词______________;指物用关系代词______________,引导词可以_________.
作定语时,表示所属关系时,用关系代词__________ (既指人也指物).指物时相当于of which.
作表语时,无论先行词是人还是物,用关系代词______________
作状语时,用关系副词when, why, where分别表示时间,地点,__________. 可换成介词+_________.

关系代词作主语时,谓语动词的数须与先行词的数保持__________. 含“one of + 复数名词+ 定语从句”结构的句子,该结构的“复数名词”是先行词,定语从句的谓语动词用__________;若one前面有the, the only, the first, the last 或the right等限定词修饰,one是先行词,定语从句的谓语动词须用单数.

2. 限制性定语从句用法的注意事项
1).关系代词作主语时,谓语动词的数须与先行词的数保持一致。
(1)I met the girl who ____ said to have written two books.我见到了那位据说写过两本书的女孩。
(2)Do you know the girls who ____ standing by the door? 你认识那些站在门边的女孩吗?
2).含“one of + 复数名词+ 定语从句”结构的句子,该结构的“复数名词”是先行词,定语从句的谓语动词用复数;若one前面有the, the only, the first the last 或the right等限定词修饰,one是先行词,定语从句的谓语动词须用单数。
(1) He is one of the boys who _____ English. (know) 他是其中一个懂英语的男孩。
(2) He is the only one of the boys who_____ English. (knowledge)
他是那些男孩中唯一懂英语的男孩。
3) who 与that 在定语从句中可作主语或宾语,有时还可以作介词宾语。作介词宾语时,who和that均不能放在介词之后;如果将介词提前(注意:某些固定短语的介词不能提前)放在定语从句的
前面,则不能用who或that ,而要用whom或which 。
(1) The man ____ wrote this book is a friend of mine. 写这本书的人是我的朋友。
(2) The man ____ you are looking for is in the reading-room. 你正在寻找的那个人在阅览室。
(3) This is the house ____ he lives in. ﹦ This is the house in he lives.

4) 由“介词+which”引导的定语从句,其中的介词与定语从句修饰的名词的搭配,定语从句中的动词或形容词与介词的搭配有关。

(2)That is the factory where[=__ __]my father works.那是我亲工作的工厂。
(3)The man___ ___ I borrowed this book is Mr. J我借这本的那位男子是约翰先生。

5)as用作关系代词和副词引导限制性定语从句并在从句中作主语,宾语,表语或状语,构成 the---same---as, such---as, so---as等结构。
(1)Here are such questions as are often asked by the college students.
这是些大学生们常问的那类问题。
(2)This is the same computer as I have bought.这台计算机和我买的那台一样。
(3) 我从没见过像她这样的女孩。I have never seen such kind of girl as she is.
(4)他和我在同一个公司上班。He worked in the same company as I do.
6). whom与 which作宾语时常可省略,但若用于介词之后则不能省略。
