Units and thematic content
In Module 6, pupils learn to talk about some animals and their owners.
In Unit 11, Janet and her friend are at the pet shop. They see some lovely ducks and decide to buy one. In Unit 12, Janet and Ben are at a farm and they see some interesting animals.
Grammar and communicative functions
Asking and answering Yes/No questions about existence:
Are there any cats in your shop
Yes, there are.
No, there aren’t.
These and those for referring to people and things in the plural, e.g. Those are lovely. These two rabbits are white.
Many for indicating large quantities, e.g. We have many dogs.
Third-person plural pronoun They. E.g.They have… They’re …
Whose for asking questions about possessions. E. g. my/your rabbits…
Apostrophe-s for indicating possession, e.g. They are my cousins.

学情分析:三年级下学期的学生经过了将近三年的英语学习,对英语课堂学习任务积极参与,乐于模仿,他们有一定的英语听说读写能力,上学期已经学过的动物词有cat, dog, rabbit, bear, 口语学习过的有mouse,fish, bird, duck, frog, turtle, elephant, kangaroo, monkey, lion, tiger, chicken, 能够表达自己喜欢的动物 I like …也可以表达Andy is a monkey. 之类的句子。对于There be … 句型,在Module 5的学习中已经学习了,并且学习了How many … are there …? 的问答。
教学内容分析: 这个单元的话题是Pets宠物, 在本课将会继续加深对There be 句型的学习和运用,学习一般疑问句Are there any… 继续学习宠物类的小动物的词汇。难点除了词汇学习以外,还有两个,一是any 用于疑问句,some通常用于肯定句;二是has的主谓一致。教育孩子们爱护小动物,保护小动物,与动物和谐共存。
教学重点:
1、动物词汇:duck, monkey, fish, bird, chicken,以及他们的复数形式。
2、其他词汇:any, shop, aren't = are not, over there, those, buy, has
3、继续加深对There be 句型的学习和运用,学习一般疑问句Are there any…

Teaching and learning objectives:
To learn how to ask and answer questions about the existence of something in a place.
Teaching steps:
1. Ask pupils to take a quick to look at the picture in the book, and recall the names of animals that they have learnt.
2. Ask pupils to look at the picture again. Draw attention to the shopkeeper and the animals on display, and teach the word pet. Tell pupils that this is a pet shop.
3. Prepare pupils for the listening by saying: Janet and her friend are at the shop. They see some animals. Let’s listen to what they are talking about.
4. Play the recording all the way through.
5. Play the recording again, pausing after every sentence to guide or check understanding.
6. Conduct some reading aloud practice on the dialogue.
7. Demonstrate how to do the listening task. Say a sentence: I can see some… Which picture is that Guide pupils to find the picture.
