When I was a child, my mum always told me I should be in good manners, and also told me what I should od and what I shouldn’t do. She would be very angry if I made any mistakes. Especially when she brought me to see her friends or our relatives, good manners were the most important at the dinner table.
Before our guests arrived, I couldn’t put my elbows(手肘) on the table. I couldn’t talk when eating, and couldn’t chew(咀嚼) with my mouth open. She told me I should always say “thank you” and “please”.
