shoot此处作及物动词，其过去式和过去分词均为shot。shoot还可作不及物动词，与介词at连用，表示动作的方向或目标。shoot at意为“向……射击”。
He shot an arrow from his bow.
2.weak adj. 虚弱的；无力的
weak在此处意为“虚弱的；无力的”，反义词为strong（强壮的）。
e.g. At the hospital, my body was weak, but my mind was still very clear.
weak还可表示“不擅长的；（能力）弱的；懦弱的”。 be weak in 意为“在……方面差”，相当于 be bad at 。
e.g. Geography is my weak subject.
weak的名词形式为weakness，意为“懦弱；衰弱；弱点，缺点”。 e.g. He thought crying was a sign of weakness.
weak 还可表示“稀的；稀释的”。 e.g. weak tea/coffee淡茶/淡咖啡
remind v. 提醒；使想起
The movie reminds me of my childhood.
My parents often remind me to study hard.
He reminds me that it is necessary to take some money with me.
a little bit 有点儿，稍微
1) a little bit 常用来修饰形容词或副词及其比较级，相当于 a little, a bit 或 kind of 。
It’s a little bit ( = a little / a bit / kind of ) hot today.
You’d better come a little bit earlier tomorrow.
a little bit 还可修饰动词。
Could you turn the TV up a little bit
turn … into … 把……变成
turn … into … 相当于 change… into…。 They turned/changed the reading room into a laboratory.
turn into表示“变成”，turn在此作不及物动词。 A few weeks later, winter turned into spring.
6.Western adj. 西方国家的；（尤指）欧美的；西方的
表示方向的名词，加后缀–ern，可构成相应的形容词：
west（西方）→ western（西方的）
east（东方）→ eastern（东方的）
south（南方）→ southern（南方的）
north（北方）→ northern（北方的）
7.cheat
① cheat在此处作动词，意为“欺骗；蒙骗”。cheat sb. (out) of sth. （尤指用不诚实或不正当的手段）阻止某人得到某物。
Merchants should not cheat their customers.
He cheated his aged aunt out of her fortune.
② cheat还可作名词，意为“骗子”。
One day two cheats came to see the emperor.

辨析：
9.bright adv. 光亮地；明亮地 adj. 明亮的；光线充足的
① bright 此处作副词，意为“光亮地；明亮地”，常与动词 burn, shine 等连用。

② bright 还可作形容词，意为“明亮的；光线充足的”，其比较级为brighter, 最高级为brightest。

从属连词，表示“由于……”，类似 because，引导原因状语从句；

as在此处作连词，引导时间状语从句，表示主从句动作同时进行。

复合关系代词，表示“这一点”，引导非限制性定语从句；

副词，表示“像......一样”，修饰形容词、副词原级；
