Language points

without thinking twice意为“没有多想”，是介词+doing结构。without是介词，其后可接doing，名词或代词。

to one’s surprise意为“使……惊讶的是；出乎……的
意料”,放在句首,用逗号与其他部分隔开。

To their surprise, all the students pass the exam.出乎他们
意料的是，所有的学生都通过了考试。
