Tu Youyou: first Chinese woman to win a Nobel Prize
The Nobel Prize
The Nobel prize is an annual award for outstanding intellectual achievement. Nobel Prizes are awarded in the fields of Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine, Literature, and Peace.
These awards were created by Swedish scientist and
philanthropist Alfred Nobel. The first prizes were presented in 1901 and have since been awarded to over 900 recipients.
