Every year several thousand people are killed on the roads. Every year about two hundred thousand people are injured（受伤）. These people are killed or injured in road accidents（事故）.
There are rules（规则）to make the roads safe, but people do not always obey（遵守）the rules. They are often careless. If everyone obeys the rules, the roads will be much safer.
