Step 1 Revision Talking about your favourite pets with some adjectives in pairs: Step 2 Presentation 1. Present some new words using pictures. 2. Read aloud these new words: Step 3 Listening 1. Listen to a talk and help Peter check if the notes are T (true) or F (false). 2. Listen o the talk again and complete A2 on Page 99. Notes: 1) pick them up with your hands 用手把他们捞起来 2) grow up be…centimetres long 长大成为……厘米长 3) weigh up to…grams 重达……克/有……克重 3. Complete A3 on Page 100 with the help of the information on Page 99. Step 4 Explanation 1. pick up 捡起，拿起 Will you please pick up the pen for me pick sth. up = pick up sth. 但当宾语是代词时只能说： pick it/ them up Look! It’s a watch. Please pick it up. 2. weigh up to 40 grams 有40克重 The boy weighs up to 60 kilograms. 3. once a day 一天一次 —How often should I feed him —Once a day. 4. grow up to be 12 centimetres long 长成12厘米长 What do you want to b when you grow up. 5. We learnt about how to look after them. 我们学会了如何照料他们。 疑问词+ to do I don’t know what to feed them. 6. make noise 发出声响，发出噪音 Don’t make any noise. That machine makes a lot of noise. Step 5 Exercises
