They are whales.
Whales are the largest animal in the world.It can be up to 30 meters long . It is a mammal (哺乳动物）that lives in water all its life. Whales include the large ones called whales and the small ones dolphins. Whales are shaped like fish, with nostrils（鼻孔） on the upper part of the head and breathe with their lungs(肺). In order to adapt to life in the water and reduce resistance, whales lose their hind limbs （后肢）and turn their forelimbs （前肢）into paddles. Therefore, their diving ability is very strong. The largest toothed whale, sperm whales（抹香鲸）, can dive（潜水） below kilometers and last in the water for 2 hours.

Whales are huge animals. They live in the sea and eat small fish and other sea animals. They can sing songs and sing very well. One interesting fact is whales can jump high out of the water. Another interesting fact is that some kinds even have teeth.
But now some kinds of whales are in danger because there is more and more water pollution. Some people even catch whales for meat, fat and oil, and use whale parts to make candles and soap.
We should play a part in saving the whales. We could protect whales by making rules on whale protection and by not putting rubbish into the sea. I think people should learn more about whales.
